who plays the biggest role in winning 18 Missouri state championships @ Scott County Central. SCC has won 6 state championships in the past 7 years. Matt Cline will be the 4th head coach in the past 7 season @ Scott County Central.

Ronnie Cookson------13 state champions

Kenyon Wright---------3 state championships

Matt Staple-------------2 state championships

SCC has hired former Brave player Matt Cline who coached @ Richland high school last season ( 16-46 record )

I have given advice to our young inexperienced coaches on how to build a resume. The advice was to seek employment in high schools that has strong " Tradition " like a SCC, Sikeston, South Iron, Bernie, Hazelwood Central, Webster, Kirkwood and ects.

Seeking employment in a private high school like Borgia, CBC, Chaminade, Vianney, Cape Notre Dame and others can almost guarantee success in coaching basketball but the retirement benefits may be lacking when comparing.

The top traditional private high schools can give you success ( Lower pay --- smaller retirement benefits )

Alright inexperienced high school coaches---where will you apply for your next coaching position?

Three coaches have all won state championships there and you are asking how that happens. Give it just a little more thought...it will come to you.

I now get it, it's the talented players who live in the Scott County Central school district and having an administration who will let the coaches coach. Coaching boys basketball @ SCC can indeed be very rewarding and a resume builder. I believe some day a book will be written about SCC basketball and how the great success was done. Southeast Missouri's main man ( Larry Doby from Oran ) just might be the author of this best seller.

SCC hired team astrologist Mona Mondieu after she parted ways with the Pittsburgh Pisces in 1980..... She is the common thread....

Kids at SCC play basketball year round. They are in the gym or on the playground everyday. No football team, and not much interest in baseball. Granted, the occasional move in or fathom address don't hurt, but the fact is that they have more kids with more skills than kids at other schools because they play all the time. It's a culture thing.

SCC high school has an enrollment of about 100 students. The Braves are one of the largest schools in class 1. Playing in class 1 districts and beyond, one well placed move in can change a district winner. One move in in our larger classes most likely would not effect the outcome.

Scott County Central plays in Class 2.......
According to the MSHSAA recording, SCC has won two class 2 state championships. The remaining championships were in class 1.

The SCC Braves did play in class 2 last season and will in class 2 again in 2016 however 89% of the Braves's championships are in class 1.

Metro you're slipping. Cameron Scales from Lafayette has signed at Three Rivers. I figured you would post that before I knew about it. I just looked at the NJCAA signing list and saw his name on there for 3R.
