Hannibal gets robbed in K-Town

Kearney 17 min of posession and still had 426 yards of offense. They were winning this game regardless of bad officiating, Hannibal getting First downs three times off 4th downs. Hannibal wasn't good enough to win. Period. The officials kept it close.

Hannibal had 30 more offensive plays than Kearney, registering 22 first downs while gaining a total of 347 yards on 73 snaps. The Bulldogs totaled 16 first downs and racked up 395 yards on 43 plays.
The hold determined the winner. Bar none.

So what if Hannibal ties it? K moved through H's defense like sh!t through a goose. They would have scored with two minutes left.

Hannibal lost because they had no defense. Period.

Big plays doomed Hannibal. Thank goodness for Kearney they can pass block. Griffith had 200 yards rushing, 81 plays compared to 45, wow.

Just so you know, but most crews this point of the seson are not local. The crew at the Webb game were from the Columbia area. I would imagine the crew at the Kearney game were from a completely different region/area. Homer cries at this time of the year make me laugh.

In any game, it would be an awful call.

For a thread that started off with one bad/questionable/right call, boy has it mutated...o_O

Can we agree that Kearney is down this year and "every" playoff game from this point forward will be a challenge?

To think that this team is the caliber of 09,03,02 or even 2015 is somewhat naïve.

I am happy we just won the game.

Congrats to Hannibal on a great season and unlike most of St Louis teams, you guys will be back.;)

Sorry, Chief, but now you know how every opponent feels playing at Hannibal. Ask any AD or coach - it's well known across the NCMC as the place where the fix is always in. Every big gainer is always called back on a hold or block in the back. It's as well known as playing at Harrisburg in basketball. You have to win by 10 on a neutral field in order to overcome all the homer calls and win by 1 at their place. Sounds like you finally got a taste of your own medicine.
Always love it when posters compare basketball to anything of relevance to football in the importance of a single call. Basketball gets a thousand games, right up there with parks and rec contests.

This team would lose to Kearney 2013 and 2014. 14 would be close. Offense better than 2014...defense not.

Compare state titles, finals, semifinals, etc ... I notice you still chose to not answer the history questions about Hannibal. How many Top 3 finishes do they have?
my stats only go thru 2009, so up to that point Hannibal's play off record was 9-12 overall with their best finish in 2006 in a Championship loss to Webb City. *Bringing peace to a world of MoSports posts* :D

Though the offense as a "whole" is a group of overachievers, K-Town's QB may be the best they have ever had.

To think that just last year he played under a totally different system and team is quite amazing.

Coaching does matter here on the "West" side...;)

Defense lacks speed and gives up way too many big plays on the edge. I expect next Saturday's game to be quite high scoring.

I have seen a picture of the call your complaining about trying to get it sent to me I think your opinion will change when I post it

So are you going to post it?

Did I hear "Best Kearney QB all-time"? ... interesting... Haven't seen the kid play, you may be right, but that is quite a statement....

I was wandering if anyone would challenge that assessmen.

It could easily be argued that BP would be that guy but unlike his team, this offensive line pales in comparison.

The 2009 OL had one 6'9 lineman that took care of two opposing players by himself. Quicker, faster, larger guards with better depth.

Do not want to turn this into a "Kearney vs Kearney" thread, just stating facts as I see them.

The one thing "all" Kearney teams have in common is that Community comes first.

That is something we "all" can celebrate ...:)

Nope Bennie Palmer is without question the best QB I've seen here. Absolute dual threat QB and what an arm! No disrespect to any of our other fine QBs but he was my fave............

He's probably reading this right now. You may need to retract this statement, or Bennie could lose his humbleness.

They got 2 plays

There was nothing keeping them from kicking a field goal, recovering the on side kick, then going deep for the score. A 2pt conversion would have sealed the deal with an exclamation point.!!!

Best Kearney QB to ever move from Excelsior Springs for his Senior year without question. Great timing...

Riddle me this. How has Hannibal gone undefeated the last what 2-3 years on the road in NCMC play. An interesting aside Hannnibal & Battle have played the last 4 years. The home team has never won!!!!!!!

Yeah, I've never heard that one. Definitely happy with my limited vocabulary, though. I use most of what I have efficiently and with vivid color.
