Ever make it out to the I-70 speedway? I went to the old one as a kid. Haven't made it to the new one yetSeveral times yes another great dirt oval I miss!
I practically lived there when Greg and Marilyn Weld (Weld wheels for non KC folks) owned it from 1981-87. That was actually where I was introduced to World of Outlaws sprint car racing.Ever make it out to the I-70 speedway? I went to the old one as a kid. Haven't made it to the new one yet
Thats wild! I had not heard that. All I kept hearing about was how nice and updated everything was. Been meaning to make it out there for a race.I practically lived there when Greg and Marilyn Weld (Weld wheels for non KC folks) owned it from 1981-87. The new track is a very nice facility with a huge flaw that could eventually close them again: the track. Why invest a zillion to rebuild everything (the pits are nice as it gets) but not rip out the pavement but simply put a few inches of dirt over it? Drivers absolutely hate the track (size is also hard on motors especially on those real hot summer evenings) because of that plus the exposed pavement causes the track to get excessively slick/dangerous (sprint car speeds on straights are about 135-140 MPH). I hope the best for it and, yes, have been there for all major sprint car spring and summer events but hope they fix the track issue.
They could probably even stay in Clinton if they cut through the middle of the state. It is one of the routes offered on Google.Made the trip in reverse a couple times. Feels like we stayed in Festus.
Assuming the Perryvillians will stay in Lee's Summit area if they are coming from the north. From the South, who the hell knows... Nevada I guess.
Yep you can see the edge of the old paved track on the west side of it.Thats wild! I had not heard that. All I kept hearing about was how nice and updated everything was. Been meaning to make it out there for a race.
So you're saying they just put dirt over the old pavement??
They tore down the classic Safari Motel I mourned for months.....................no greater overnight experience than sleeping with bark scorpions and centipedes! They could probably even stay in Clinton if they cut through the middle of the state. It is one of the routes offered on Google.
Okay.... what the hell is a bark scorpion? Sounds like it should be someone's mascot. They tore down the classic Safari Motel I mourned for months.....................no greater overnight experience than sleeping with bark scorpions and centipedes!
Those nasty little critters you find down in the Ozarks who have actually found their way northward gradually.Okay.... what the hell is a bark scorpion? Sounds like it should be someone's mascot.
Can't, he's already hosting the officials for the night!

We ran a modified for a few years, had 66 Speedway, Northfork and Monett all within 30 minutes or so of the house. Could race Fri-Sat-Sun if car would hold together that long. Mo-Kan drag strips just 10 miles from the farm, building a blown 32 ford so have something to race againSeveral times yes another great dirt oval I miss!
I could figure something out. Serve them up some gas station sushi for breakfast . Lose their luggage. Watch the game.
cheapest meth in MO.They could probably even stay in Clinton if they cut through the middle of the state. It is one of the routes offered on Google.
My middle sister and brother in law campaigned a Modified for over a decade mostly locally (Lakeside, I-35 Winston, US 36 Osborn, CMS Warrensburg) just changed to more economical Stock Car. They gave the USMTS regional a shot a few times...............We ran a modified for a few years, had 66 Speedway, Northfork and Monett all within 30 minutes or so of the house. Some of those St. Louis area folks might be interested. Some anyways.cheapest meth in MO.
Meth is more of a SWMO thing. It's everywhere but in my experience the rural area is infected with the stuff. Some of those St. Louis area folks might be interested. Some anyways.
Might be… but does that put Clinton and Adrian in SW MO? But agree on Springspread… son attends college in the north vicinity… said a common quote is if you don’t try hard in class, you’ll be living on Glenstone.Meth is more of a SWMO thing. Even north Springpatch smells like cat piss 24/7 due to cookers.
I grew up going to I-44 speedway back when it was a super popular Asphalt track. Larry Phillips and Jamie McMurray put on a heck of a show every week and so did basically every class. Saw a race there this year.....joke...heck of a track but not enough cars. Hopefully that changes this next season. I love dirt racing but asphalt short track racing is where its atI practically lived there when Greg and Marilyn Weld (Weld wheels for non KC folks) owned it from 1981-87. I went there when it was (briefly) dirt. Weirdest seating ever up on a steep hill you had to bring your own lawn chairs. Saw Jeff Purvis dominate the NDRA late model feature summer 1985. Was also my first exposure to one of the more infamous mod drivers in MO history Rex Merritt from over in Billings.I grew up going to I-44 speedway back when it was a super popular Asphalt track. Yes, it’s crazy the amount all over this general corner. Add the fentanyl coming in and I’m surprised these guys and gals are staying alive. Truly sad.it's around here too.
