Georgia

Was Georgia just flat in the SEC title game because they knew it didn’t matter?? Or did the SEC just rig it so they could get two teams in the playoff?

They are flying around like they are possessed against Michigan. They did not play this hard nor scheme this aggressively vs Bama.
I think they had pushed everyone else around all year and just assumed they would do the same to the Tide. Overconfidence or lack of concentration is a killer against equal competition. I think what you saw last night was a team that was determined (and their preparation showed it) to get another shot at the Natty. Their performance against Bama embarrassed the hell out of them and they have revenge on their mind. Revenge=great motivator. Last I knew Ga. opens as the favorite in Vegas.
As to whether it was rigged, I don't care. Both teams should obviously be there.

Why do all of those 5 stars want to go to Alabama? The answer is the culture that Nick Saban has created.
The answer is 1. they want to play in the playoff and the NFL and 2. Bama has more “bag men” than any team in the country.

Saban coaches them up.

Bag men are legal now. You don't think Burden is getting paid?

Wonder if kU* will let their financiers start spreading that love they've been sharing since the 50s to the football program.

about 28 hours out
I really think the dawgs play well and bring the natty home to the G

I want to guess Georgia but kirbs is easily flustered by Saban. Avoid that and the dawgs take it all.

Georgia was flustered when they didn't get to Young, like they had every other quarterback all year. If they can get pressure, not let him get comfortable and hit his marks, make him throw on the run, They have a good shot. Saban is the greatest but Kirby finally gets him. 31-28 Dawgs

I am not much of a college football fan. (used to be, between Mizzou being not too good and how players and coaches swap teams faster than the NFL)

ANYWAY, I sure hope you are right.

Dawgs - due to Activities directors not caring about College football national championships I only saw from mid=third quarter on. Man both teams have some "dudes". I read where it is like 17 top 50 players and even more if they were "draft eligible."

SI: T. McShay
"There are 17 players I have draftable grades on for Georgia, which is outrageous, 14 for Alabama. In my top 100 overall, there are nine for Georgia and eight guys for Alabama. It just tells you how loaded they are, and obviously they reload every year. But defensively, that’s the commonality. Georgia’s got a unique group—in 22 years of doing this, I went back and looked, I have never had 11 players that are draftable from one unit in a single class. Georgia’s the first one, on the defensive side, in 22 years."

You take away the top 2 wr of any team and they will be a totally different team. That was the case with Alabama. They scored on passing plays the first time they played, but was limited in that aspect in the championship game.

Is that like an NFL team losing it's top 5 or 6 Offensive Lineman before playing in the Super Bowl?

Yes, injuries suck but are part of it.

you also forget uga played a different style of defense
GO DAWGS!

If Bama’s top receiver doesn’t go down, it’s a different story. Just sayin’….Congrats to Georgia! See you next year!
If half the 'lower bowls' SEC teams didn't have so many opt outs they'd have won every one of them. :)

If they expand the play-offs to 16 teams, will there be a need for any other bowl game? Maybe that is their hesitation? I like the current format. I don’t like the 6 wins to be bowl eligible. Congrats for being average, here is your reward. Enough of that already going on.
Depends on if they use the bowl games as part of the 16 team bracket.
You can use 15 bowls for that easy.
Currently 44 bowls so ya we could stand to pare that down to 30ish imo

I'm not sure the NCAA can tell the Bahamas bowl or Boca Raton bowl they have no business inviting 2 teams to play a game at their house.

That would be a good move IMO.

Its not like the SEC teams were the only one with opt outs. It just wasnt a good Bowl Season for the SEC. It is what it is.

But they had the two best teams including the Natty Winner AGAIN. That is plenty to continue to brag about

Most NFL draft picks come from the SEC. Fact.

You'll find out soon enough.

uga played an aggressive style of defense and pressured young on every play
did not happen on december 4th.
uga wins either way in my opinion
are u a bama fan?

he bout to learn what it's like to have to play SEC lines every week instead of once every few years in a bowl.

Better work on that depth boomers.
I do not think OU will find it all that much different. They are built to play who they play. You go back a decade or two and OU was as physical as anyone. IN FACT they were criticized for not spreading out and throwing the ball.

It will be more like the old Big 8, a more physical style. Any of yo old enough to remember when Oklahoma, Nebraska, and add in a Okie St or Mizzou (James Wilder) having a top notch run game. Their games were like a running clock, both teams combined for like 15 pass plays.

They had one player in recent memory that would have been a 'handful' for SEC teams.
CeeDee Lamb.

Gonna need more than that.

One minute the talk was the physicality of the line, now it is how many supa star skills? Not one SEC qb is any better than former OU K Murray, none are any better than Center Creed Humphrey. I understand overall the SEC is better but to think OU would not pummel several current SEC schools is ignorant. Now if we are just comparing to Georgia and Alabama 2021, you might have a point. However a conference is like 14 schools.

What happens when Humphrey gets hurt? What's their depth like? SEC depth? i think not.
Look at all the linemen every SEC team loses year after year. It's brutal.

I pointed out the one player that I felt SEC might have (and did have) trouble with. LSU struggled with him even when they were completely destroying OU in the semi.

Again, OU thinks they be ok. Clemson won two natties with that guy because they had DeShaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence.

I think you overvalue Murray. Let him run around SEC defenses like he did in the big bevo. He'd be on life support.
