Welcome to opening day of the 2021 Football Season. As a retired veteran coach of High School, College and NFL, Opening day is always very special to me, especially at the high school level. I was a head high school coach at a small town in western Pennsylvania for some time before getting a break and moving up to college to coach in the defensive backfield. It is my goal every week to give coaches some inspiration and the benefit of my years of experience. I love this profession, the players that play it and the men who are role models for so many, including me.
Coaches, you have put the work in. The kids have put the work in. You had winter weights, you had spring weights, you had summer weights, you had 7 on 7, you had camp and you had time away from your families. It is the day you have dreamed of. YOUR WORK IS NOT DONE. Make sure the players look around left, right in front in back. Make sure they realize that they may not have Tennis teams, swim teams, fancy fields or stadiums or locker rooms. They have each other and at the end of the game still need to have each other. They go out on that field tonight and they lay it on the line for their teammates, their family and their community. And when they lay it on the line- THEY DO IT TOGETHER!!! TOGETHER TOGETHER TOGETHER.
Seriously, thanks for all you good men do for kids. We have the greatest profession.
Hoping every COACH has players tonight that use ALL THE RIGHT MOVES.
