This was a great observation. LN handled it much better by and large. If that was a calculated move it was epic fail.
Maybe KMO fans don't care as much as PC fans to clear off the field?
Why would the fans have anything to do with clearing a HS football field. It definitely shouldn't be up to them to do that. Coaching/administration decision with school employees doing the clearing...
People might debate this one for years, but the bottom line is both teams played in the same conditions.
LN was the better team on both sides of the ball and executed at a higher level than Kearney did. A completely clear playing field (such as Platte Co) wouldn't have made much difference in the outcome.

There are a lot of times that parents paint the football fields and care for them throughout the year. It is not uncommon for that to happen.
Community members, families, school board members, school maintenance staff, etc. all pitched in at Kearney and Platte County to help clear the facilities. If you think that's not normal, then you don't understand how smaller communities operate.
I really hope both schools will schedule each other in the regular season. I would not see either team NOT wanting to play this game. Imagine the Twitter war that would go on too! LOL

Yes, Kearney is not a small town...I grew up in a town of 2500 not 11,000 (Kearney) and it still was not up to fans/family to clear a field. That is silly to even think it should be anyone's responsibility other than the school. Be better!
I think you guys are missing the point. Blaming fans/parents for the field not being cleared is silly. Can/do they pitch in? Absolutely. But they should never be expected to. The schools get way to much money to require free labor to do their job. Not saying it doesn't happen but that also doesn't mean it should...at a town the size of Tipton I may be able to understand. Kearney has no excuse other than the coach and admin not wanting it to be cleared very badly which ended up working against them
I watched how sloppy that Parkway North game was and didn't take the bait. I'm gonna get in lots of trouble but so be it I actually won a bucket of beers at the local pub picking LN to win this one.

Could be. Again I said IF as far as them leaving the field outside the yard markers and numbers covered. Only thing I would say is were I a visiting coach intentional or no it would be a motivator knowing my team had tons of speed. All moot now as others have pointed out the more deserving team won. NOOOOOOOOOOOO shame for the Alma Mater I have no doubt these are two of the best 5 teams in any class in MO this year but LN has to come off this huge win relatively early facing Festus at 11 AM Friday. A letdown is a strong possibility.

Also, the decision on the field conditions to play are on the school but to doubt truthfully that small communities like KMO and PC wouldn't bend over backwards for their schools is preposterous. Field was an even playing conditions for both teams, PC chose to clear it all off while KMO chose to leave it on except endzones and traditional lines.
One last note on this game I thought it was very evenly and well OFFICIATED. They essentially let them play but didn't hesitate to make the pretty obvious pen calls..............
