I feel fortunate that I got on SS and Medicare recently. The Trusk Dogs are going to cut staff and continue to close offices and eliminate telephone contact at SS offices to make it as difficult as possible to communicate with SS. It always screws the rural folks and the poor the most. Some towns are 100 miles from the nearest SS office.

Same thing Missouri has done with Medicaid.
When we voted for the Medicaid expansion the GOP was pissed and tried to stop it. When the judge said no, they pivoted to underfunding, understaffing and not updating the offices so now it takes an average of 45 days after application to get insured. The worst Medicaid turnaround time in the country.

Making government as inefficient as possible so people will give up is their dream.

Ah someone in their feelings? SS, Medicare, Medicaid, it doesn’t matter. No one is coming for it. The orange man is righting the ship for you regardless how much you hate him.

If you have ever dealt extensively with SS or the VA, you would know the absolute last thing they need is to cut staff and reduce the avenues for communication. But if your goal is to destroy programs they have a hell of a plan.

OMG

Howard Lutnick, Donald Trump’s billionaire commerce secretary, suggested on a podcast this week that missing Social Security checks aren’t a big deal, and that only a “fraudster” would actually complain if their monthly benefit didn’t come in the mail.

“Let’s say Social Security didn’t send out their checks this month,” Lutnick said on the All-Inpodcast. “My mother-in-law is 94. She wouldn’t call and complain. She just wouldn’t. She would think something got messed up and she’ll get it next month. A fraudster always makes the loudest noise screaming, yelling, and complaining.”

“The easiest way to find a fraudster is to stop payments and listen,” he continued. “Whoever screamed is the one stealing.”

If you listened to the whole thing he is specifically talking about those who are committing fraud. Not surprised you didn’t get that though
