Fall 2019 Districts

I didn't say anything about Coaches, yes most coaches I know would rather coach a completive game against tougher competition. Apparently the kids in Maryville are different than EVERY High School kid I have ever met.
One disclaimer, yes I think some good small school teams would love the chance to see how they stack up against Webb, Rock, CBC etc. for one game but come payoffs I believe most High School kids would rather dominate the competition.

Soooooo much for Raytown being a Class 5 threat...................Class 4 in the KC metro changed just like that! And, after all the chat about Webb, no change. MOOOOORE to come as my work schedule permits!
You have know about this date for weeks, were you out of vacation?

Not a bad first post.

As I said, I was specifically referring to Maryville or the great programs.

ask a Webbie if they would rather compete in C3 or try the challenge of C5. or a Lamar kid if they would rather move down to C1 or try C3.

Yes, when it comes to high school football, these kids a obviously different. They have been waiting for their turn to win a state championship their whole lives. The kids you are referring to probably just hoping to not get embarrassed or hurt.

I also notice, providing the rotating brackets remain the same, Webb will actually be aligned to play Ladue in the semifinals again! Last year's finalists are both in District 3. This opens the door for a NWMO team to make it to the final..............unless someone has insight into a District 1-2 team to watch this fall.
St. Mary's is the best bet IMO to make it to the semifinals out district 2, but I don't see them getting past a Raytown, Platte County, or Kearney.

District 7 became much more loaded: Harrisonville, Grain Valley and Raytown will all be Top 10 caliber. Still almost as stunned seeing the Blue Jays in C4 as Maryville dropping to C2.

Webb is not far off, and could compete and be a top 10 class 5 team.

District 8 is pretty much status quo and should be all about Highway 92............

I not saying they wouldn't embrace the challenge or be able to complete. Look at Harrisonville, would they rather go to 5 straight title games in class 3 or win one title every ten years in class 4? Given the choice I would guess the kids would stay in class 4 but deep down would love to go down and gather another 3-4 titles in the next 5 years.

More than one of those C3 title teams would've been a handful for anyone in C4 (especially 2007). Just saying...........

Nothing too surprising other than I thought Nixa and Ozark might both be C6 but neither are. Eureka will be tough in C5.

I expected WC to stay C4 even though it was widely speculated they would move up. Also not surprised Willard moved down to C4. I'm sure Monett is happy to be back in C3 at least for the moment.

It will be interesting to see what next year looks like, I think that's when we'll see more dramatic changes. Right now there aren't enough schools assigned to classes 5 and 6. Schools like Webb, Neosho, Willard, Camdenton and many others are more similar to C5 schools than many C4 schools. I hope the new system fixes that even though I don't love the idea of Carthage and Webb being back in the same district. As others have said I too think 48 and 48 would result in a much better outcome.

Looks like West Plains is heading back west in districts this year. After one season in district 1..

Class 6 District 4- yikes. Whoever comes out of that will be battle tested that is for sure
Right out of the gate we get to see two matchups inside this district:

Lee's Summit North at Liberty North
Lee's Summit West at Park Hill

There is just a SMIDGE of a chance they will be in Pick Em...........

Yea I'm on this bandwagon too. Add the factor of getting a new coach and who knows what you'll get.
May not be able to judge by Week 1, though UNLESS they go down to Hogtown (Fayetteville AR) and win.

How happy are Savanah and Odessa this morning. Have fun this year because next year when the multiplier is gone Maryville goes back up.

I would imagine that Maryville is disappointed this morning, they barely have any competition as it is.
They will get a bunch of class multiplier district points, so they have that going for them.

What is the new system?

This is the real reason why we're in this crazy mess. Next year will be even crazier.

this is why you make C1 the catch-al.l 5 schools drop down and it doesn't effect any other class, just makes c1 smaller.

36 team in Class 5, that's a joke

Eureka drops down to class 5 in district 2. Winner of District 1 and 2 play each other. Jackson and Eureka will be playing each other this year in the playoffs. I could not name a better public vs public game In class 5. Sign me up now. I am going. Winner of this game goes to state.

I don't really follow SEMO HSFB (NW keeps me plenty busy) but seem to remember Jackson's key offensive players were all underclassmen.................is that correct?

Can someone break it into 6 classes with equal numbers per class? I would like to see what it would look like that way?

What it would look like is a bunch of 5, 6, or 7 team districts. That doesn't make sense either. Having a single class be the catch-all is the best option. There's no reason to change things.

I agree there’s no reason to change things but I think it’s possible that’s an option moving forward
