It has been suggested that there is not a single reported case in the entire world of transmission of Covid from student to teacher. If true then that is a significant factor for school boards to consider when determining back to school schedules. Thoughts?

I have not heard or read that. What about teacher to student? Or student to student?

I have read in a medical journal that child to adult transmission is rare but not impossible - less than 1% chance. The chances slowly start to climb in 14-18 age range.

If true, it may because schools have been closed since the pandemic began. There also hasn't been a single reported case in the entire world of transmission of COVID from person to person at an NFL game, either.

Well we had summer school and have had teachers, students and support staff test positive.

Not trying to be political.......not a doctor.......but my take is we can't hide from this crap and really hurt ourselves when we try. A leading government expert (name left out) said a vaccine may not even be successful. Can't get immunity like that. We can't keep sheltering. It's not good mentally, physically, economically for anyone. We need to quit cowering in shadows and get on with life. I wonder what the outcome of a conflict like WWII would be if we had to confront it today? If we're not careful we might find out. Suspect the "Germans" or "Japanese" of the 21st century might take it to our tails.

too bad this happened during an election year cuz everyone knows getting reelected is more important than the economy and human life.

This virus and the shutdown of our economy and the riots only benefit Democrats. Foolish to think any other way.

yes that was the critical thinking and forethought taken by the administration. hey guys lets crash the economy and hopefully a small number of people will burn some chit after law enforcement murders another black man in order to lose our national political power. maybe afterwards those that lost will be so pissed they will takeover and destroy a bird sanctuary in the NW.

Seems like everyone working together and sacrificing for the greater good might be a patriotic thing to do. As if simply wearing a mask is a huge sacrifice.
It’s not a huge sacrifice. If masks work, and scared people are wearing them they will be fine. Old people, sick people; protect yourselves like always. Everyone else live. You’re going to be fine.

AMEN!
I have yet to wear a mask because I refuse to be a part of the culture of fear. According to the stats and claims, I am at higher risk because of age (60) and some health issues (stroke in Jan). Live life or you have no life!
There is no way this would be the response just 20 years ago and yes, the WW2 era would have been ashamed of the way we fear an illness.
Wrong, Chris. WW2 era people rightly feared polio and took proper precautions including closing schools, sporting events, public pools, theatres, bowling alleys, etc. during outbreaks in the late 40s and early 50s.

Masks, school closures and canceling sports seasons were also commonplace during our last major flu pandemic in 1918.

Mitch, I value your opinion and anyone else’s that might happen to post on this board. It doesn’t seem that is the case for you. We don’t all think the same way, drink the same things, eat the same things. We don’t all trust those that give us guidance each day. You seem to be one of those “you gotta be tolerant” fellows except if someone doesn’t agree with you or think like you. I have no problem with wearing a mask and do at work and in public. The fear is that “the mask” can lead to more limitations of a serious nature. I say we cannot hide from this virus. It is futile. It is going to destroy us from within rather than an external attack from foreign lands. The arguments and statements I see on here prove it. I was taught to think for myself and not trust someone in power just because of a title. I will keep respecting how you feel and continue to form my own opinions. At least for a few more months anyway.

Can we please just use some common sense. We are all reasonable people. If something that we read or hear simply doesn't make sense, we should investigate other, potentially more credible sources.
