Fair Grove is athletic, but they remind me of Strafford of about 5 years ago or so. Really talented, but just not physical enough. Granted Lamar is not that 2014 Lamar, But this Fair Grove is not the 2014 Strafford either. I think Lamar takes this one.

The last tough kid to come through there was the one that used horse tranquilizers to finish his senior year.

Fg receivers are a matchup problem at 6'5, both of them. Good hands and speed. Rb is good, that being said Lamar's schedule and physicality will be difference. Should be good game, Lamar wears them down as game goes on.

Lamar by 14 +. - Off-topic, If Lamar wins by 14+ then I think our district "scoring system" needs to be tweaked. If one analyzes Lamars 7-2 schedule and FG 8-0 schedule there is really no comparison. I was surprised Lamar could not gain but maybe 1 total point with a win over Class 3 Cassvile while FG did not even play. So the first thing that I suggest is to word it, "Points divided by 9 games", rather than "points divided by the total number of games". Just my opinion. Congratulations and good luck to both (ALL) teams. Well, all teams except private schools. NoBiasHere.

Totally agree in general on district points. Good stuff man.

I don’t care if they have Wilt Chamberlain and Dikembe Mutombo lined up as their number 1 and number two wide outs. Tough country boys that play hard nose football in one of the best conferences in football will always beat Springfield suburb doctor’s kids who’s most adversity they’ve ever faced is choosing a 2018 Dodge Ram or 2014 Hummer.
“Of course I’ll pick the Hummer over a Dodge, but JEEZE. If you’re going to offer a 2014 I GUESS I’ll settle for the Ram...”

Did Fair Grove every get new field? Was there in 2008 for semifinal game. Field was so uneven.

Game will be won in the trenches more than likely. Size doesn't mean anything unless you get time to make those needed throws.

They got a new field the year after that I believe. I watched a playoff game there in the fall of 09 and I believe that was the first year of the new facility. Same facility as the game I saw there this year.

Are these posts about Fair Grove kids being spoiled rich kids serious?

Uh, Fair Grove's zip code is 65648. Your attempts at creating bulletin board material are humorous. Nobody from Lamar posts this kind of stuff.

Stereotypes on these two teams have gotten a little ridiculous. Lamar is far from a team full of "farm boys". Rural values of hard work, respect for adults, responsibility, and humble action on the field certainly characterize this team, but you can count the kids that actually live on farms on one hand. Besides, a modern "farm boy" doesn't buck hay bales or shovel silage anymore, hasn't for over 30 years. These kids are in this condition because of the countless year-round hours of strength and conditioning work....off the farm.

I know some families with kids on the FG team as well, and they are far from spoiled rich kids. There may be more true "farm boys" on that team than Lamar. They certainly don't have the record they have by having anything given to them.

Either way, there is a contrast in the style of football, and certainly a difference in the strength of schedule. It should be an interesting match and a fun game to watch.

You could tell Versailles wasn't too scared of Fair Grove until they ran out of gas and Fair Grove blew the game open in the second half. They played a few better teams in the Tri-County you could tell. Lamar will be the same way being in the Big 8. Should be a good one, I'll give the edge to Lamar.

Yes but you lose the plus 10 for playing a game which would automatically cost you a point so when it comes to your average not playing a game is considered worse than a loss

Why should a team be penalized for playing 8 games, when only 5 is required to qualify for the postseason? Totally disagree here.

If Lamar had only lost one game they would have solidly outpointed Fair Grove for the top seed. They got the seed their season deserved IMO.

Unless I am mistaken, that is not how it works. They played 8 games and won all 8 so they got the full 20 points for their win/loss record. Had they played and lost they would have only finished with 18.888 for their win/loss record.

Cards was kind enough to post on here the formula once already but i'm pretty sure a loss is better than not playing though I could be wrong

If the QB has a little time I think FG will be able to throw on Lamar. Their pass defense is a little suspect, but they will have to block well and I think Lamar's size and physicality will overcome that in the end.

FG just doesn’t play anyone. They played a solid Buffalo squad, but they had some key players out in that game. The wins are just suspect always for FG. You can only play with who’s scheduled next. I just don’t see anything that suggests this year is going to be any different for FG.

Anyone else remember when FG led the #wheresbartoncounty campaign the last time they were undefeated and played Lamar for districts? Lol! They proceeded to get blown out. Now, Lamar isn’t as good as they were a few years ago, but I’m here to tell ya, even though the game is in Greene county, the eagles will get reminded where Barton county is.

Are you using past history to predict future games? You just contadicted the tripe you wrote on another post. Internal inconsistency they call it. I just just call it mental midgetry.

First off learn to spell. Talk about a mental midget. No inconsistences here, two different sets of circumstances, and likelihood of outcomes. Which one of you is the dom and sub? To be clear, between you and O line wins games?
