Electric cars must really suck

I am all for continuing to explore the universe for scientific knowledge, but I don't see a great benefit to colonizing the moon or another planet. Although presently spacecraft are weighted down by fuel tanks needed to escape earth's gravity - one thought is the moon or Mars could be a refueling station. Money spent would be better spent on improving Earth.

I'm an optimist that new scientific discoveries will continue to grow. Mankind has advanced more in technology in the past century than all of the rest of human history. In 100 yrs from now, the automobile will probably be obsolete and we'll all be flying around with jet packs strapped on our backs like George Jetson.

And yet coal use was highest ever globally in 2021 and expected to go up again this year.

Greeners are never going to get India, China and hundreds of other third world countries to stop burning it. If things keep escalating in the Ukraine , we put sanctions on Russia, then Russia shuts off the flow of natural gas to Europe what are the Germans going to do for power?

We all now that the earth has a finite amount or resources and that life is infinite as long as it can breed, hence at some point moving to the stars is a must to keep from going extinct. Going to the Moon and Mars is the Baby steps needed to move forward.

Read an article where the author let an electric mustang sit for 12 hours with the heat on and it burned a quarter of a charge. This was after the shutdown in Va. where the bots were posting "what if the cars were electric?" Scare tactics..

If I'm in my '85 F-150, after about 8 hours of idling I'm hopping in that warm Mustang.
