"We lost four very good players to graduation from a team that finished 3rd in
the state last year", commented Jefferson head coach Tim Jermain.
A season ago Jefferson completed a 27-4 season, building on the strong tradition
of Eagle basketball.

"We
return a very good player in Clayton Schieber. Our four other
projected starters all saw significant playing time last year. We have a
different look but feel that we can be competitive again this year", added
Jermain.

Schieber, a 5-foot-11 inch guard earned all-league, all-district, and MBCA
all-state honors. Returning among the seven varsity letterman with solid
playing experience are 6-foot-3 inch senior Charles Miller, 5-foot-7 inch junior
Zach Jermain, 5-foot-11 inch junior Blake Meyer, and 5-foot-8 inch junior Jordan
McCrary.

Predicted to win the Platte Valley Conference once again, Dekalb and North
Andrew will provide the top challenge to the Eagles. The Eagles open
their season next week at Northwest Missouri State in the league tournament.
