Ever since I started dealing with recruiters in the late 90's I have warned people not to trust a damn word they say. Nothing has changed.

Their job is to win, so do you think they are going to tell you the truth? The next best thing might be around the corner.

Are you a tattoo artist too? Bruh

Recruiting is no different than buying a used car. If what they tell you is not in the signed contract, don't believe it

I don't know I would put much faith in a player who got busted and was ruled ineligible for the rest of his senior season in high school. Chances are he will be red shirted and Hurt will be the guy for 2019. If Rattler keeps his nose clean he will get his chance

Kind of reminds you of DGB

Funny part was OU throwing a fit and not letting Grad Transfer Austin play immediately at WV. Bush League tactic on OU's part.

Letting Austin transfer to WV is one step short of Riley mailing an OU playbook to WV. That said, it looked bad so Riley did allow his transfer.

Even though i’m A Sooner fan it is sneaky to bring in Hurts after giving Rattler assurances that no one else was being recruited.

Lol

I get a general idea, but...did "Coach" say we will not take any transfers one or did he say we are not pursuing any transfers? A lie is a lie but words are funny things.

only college coach I ever met was Norm Stewart. Back in 73 he took a half dozen of us on a personally guided tour of MU's new Hearns Center facilities for over an hour. Was like being with God and got to meet John Brown

I can honestly say he never lied to me . How can you misread "Son we aren't interested" lol

No problem with a coach doing this.. That statement was likely true in December. The coach shouldn't have to apologize for making his team better a month later. Problem is, kids don't like competition, and then media LOVES to blow stuff like that up. Why are kids entitled? Because they are allowed to be, even encouraged to be so.

Look at the Tate Martell transfer, he wasn't interested in winning the job at OSU.

It is now considered entitled to believe people should be honest with one another? In my day, we called that integrity.
Is there any independent verification that Riley told Rattler that, or is it just a player not wanting to compete and win a job ???

No, and Rattler apparently doesn't have a problem with it and apparently has no problem with the situation though it is what you would expect him to say. Rattler will redshirt next year though under the new redshirt rules he can still play on 4 games next year and redshirt.

Nobody is promised a job if you can’t win the job ride the pine. If you don’t want any competition, set on the couch with me and watch on tv.

How is asking of verification moving the goal posts?
The comment that was quoted was from a discussion about whether expecting honesty is called integrity or entitlement. He then started a different discussion about whether or not a lie was even told to circumvent the argument that was lost, i.e., moving the goalposts.

There's nothing confusing here. I will repeat the entire exchange since you were not able to follow.

I said: "It is now considered entitled to believe people should be honest with one another? In my day, we called that integrity."

He quoted my comment and said: "Is there any independent verification that Riley told Rattler that, or is it just a player not wanting to compete and win a job ???"

His statement is not relevant to whether expecting honesty is called integrity or entitlement. He is starting a completely different discussion. That, again, is called moving the goal posts. Understand now???

Ok ... I’ll wave the white flag. Either his question went over your head or your “answer” went over mine. Sorry for taking your time. Sheesh. Just because a question was asked moving the topic in a slightly different direction it wasn’t relevant? You see, that’s how adult conversations work.

No, that's how sore losers try to change the subject.
