A stalwart center for the Class 3, No. 1 ranked Blair Oaks Falcons the next selection in the MOsports Super 50 is senior Eric Northweather(6-9 210).
This season Northweather is averaging 24 points points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals per game for the 19.2 Falcons. “Eric is a hardworking kid that has a unique blend of size, athleticism, and skill set”, commented Blair Oaks head coach Ryan Fick. “He not only gets it done on the court, but in the classroom as well. He maintains a cumulative GPA of 4.0”.
A four-year varsity letterman at Blair Oaks, Northweather earned all-conference, all-district, and Class 3 all-state honors as a junior. Nestled in the center of the state, hidden from the media spotlight of Kansas City and St. Louis you can find a top talent in Wardsville, Missouri. A talented and dominant big man, Northweather features a unique combination of size and athleticism. He displays a deft touch from the perimeter and the ability to run the floor and dominate on defense.
In the fall, Northweather announced he will attend Truman State University and compete in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. "Eric is a complete post player who can go inside and outside”, shared Jeff Horner on signing day. “Not only does he finish at the rim with great athleticism, one of his best attributes is his 3-point shooting. His motor is second to none and he comes from a great program at Blair Oaks High School. Along with being a great student, Eric is most importantly a great person and we are excited to have him at Truman State University."
Check out Northweather and the Falcons as they are expected to make a deep playoff run this March in the MSHSAA playoffs.
