Kearney may be in the best overall district but don't confuse that with being at the level of WC, Ladue, and West Plains.
Stamp it and send it to Momma.

Bahahah...Bravely spoken about a team that STILL has a winning record against WC. And um, I've seen WC play twice. Not at the level of Kearney this year.

Based on what you have seen, heard and read about teams across the state after 6 weeks, what do you think the Cardinals chances are of winning their 15th set of rings (oops. Fixed). and once again reining supreme atop the Class 4 mountain.
Is it; there may be “better” teams with more talent but it won’t matter? Coach Rod and his staff are the best and they’ll get it done? They may be beatable but you’ll have to see it to believe it? What is your take?

Very beatable from the games I've seen.

Well, since I don't have time
neutral field
[2018] Webb City (MO) 27, [2018] Kearney (MO) 21

When you base everything on what a computer says, instead of a eye test. Or numbers. And than it proceeds to fail you. Lol I wonder what exuses we will see from this? It’s a waiting game hitch. where’s JN? :)

I believe Calpreps is consistently around 90% accurate at -7 point spreads. My guess would be at this point in the year a -6 spread would carry an 80% accuracy.

So that leaves us with calpreps:

Neutral Field
Kearney vs. Webb City (-6)
~80% chance ending in a Webb City victory

Webb City has a solid team this year like in '15, not great. But have a tough road to title game. WP best team in years, but same story as Webb tough road. Ladue one of their best teams, yet again tough road to get to title. On paper one of these three should be the class 4 champs,

BUT...

D8 winner (Kearney, Smithville or Platt City) should reach title game. D8 winner has three weeks to get healthy for a title shot where other 3 will not as they beat eachother up. D8 has the advantage for this reason.

In D8 Excelsior is still that "wild card" along the lines of Lafayette last year. I would not be shocked to see one of the other Highway 92 teams overlook them in a semi and get upset.

And I don’t base “everything on what a compute says.” Case in point, 2015. The computer had Webb winning by 5. I said Kearney would win. I’d seen them both play. Pretty obvious Kearney was better. Losing their D1 baseball player receiver made it a closer game, but it was obvious. Bahaha

I think I remember a costly fumble in that game. I think that actually is how Kearney won. You can’t predict that. Nor can a computer. Webb lost that game. More than Kearney won it. Oh and no biased fandom involved in that huh? It’s not obvious. Calpreps and tons of people not affiliated with Webb picks Webb to win it. Just a thought.

From the little I've seen of WC they are on par with the last 3-4 seasons which makes them a contender but not a shoe-in. They look beatable, but maybe that's an illusion. Other teams having the 'best team in years' doesn't necessarily mean a lot if they aren't experienced in winning high stakes games against extremely well coached and disciplined teams. I've seen a lot of "best team in years" get sunk by "ordinary" WC teams in marginally competitive games.

OK, so I have respect for Kearney, excellent program, 1/2 of our summer stuff is from Jones when he was at Kearney, total respect for Kearney. But JN you make a fool a complete fool of yourself when you keep spouting "we have a winning record...". 2000 - 2017 I believe it is, State Titles; Webb City 10 Kearney 4. Title losses Webb 2 Kearney 1. in 17 years, 12 title appearances vs 5. Sure you have a winning record vs Webb, that means you are still second fiddle. Only one team comes to mind in class 4 dominance, CARDINALS. Good luck to all teams.

I've stated over and over and over Kearney is the #2 program in MO C4 since we went to the six class system. The angle I prefer is comparing the Dogs program to the other 60+, many of whom would kill to win 1 title let alone 4. Sometimes to read what is posted on this site one would think we have something to be ashamed of in KTown...........

I remember a fumble at about the 30 yard line that would have made the final fumble moot. Of course, the refs missed the call. Had they not, game over at that point. I also remember K dominating for three quarters and missing out on some points they could have had to put it away.

TOP - All I have ever seen from you is top notch. The JN guy is whom I am referring to. I am 100% certain that in my post I made known that I have nothing but respect for Kearney Football. Anything outside of that would be making something out of nothing at all.

I've been here 12 years. I also tried twitter, the one time in life I felt I was better off as a quitter. NoMoreTwitter.

You Class 4 guys take this too seriously.

Have you even looked at the game stats of the 2015 championship game? The only reason you won that game is the +4 turnover stat. Webb had over a hundred more yards, 12 more first downs as well as more penalty yards. It was a great game and the Bulldogs won, but they most certainly did not dominate that game.

Was at the 15 game. Kearney forced all those turnovers. Put pressure on Webb from opening kick-off. Kearney had their fair share of penalties as well. More yards isnt a surprise or means someone dominated a game because they had more yards. Kearney had short field more times than Webb because of the forced turnover so obviously they would have less yards in a close game like that. Would I say Kearney dominated no, but they played better on that day. If those teams played 10 times Kearney wins 6 of those games.

First, "I" didn't win the game. The K Bulldogs did. Check out the stats for the first three quarters. Then look at the 4th. WC numbers got stacked in the 4th Q

No excuses.....but I remember a fumble at the goal earlier in the game going the opposite direction. However, WC lost and can't make excuses which is why they continue to beat people that are "more athletic and stronger" than them. You can't win games by playing what if or should have. You might want to dig a little deeper than just watching some games on line and listening to some posters on WC.
