Does anyone have info on 2018 Trinity Catholic football?

WHO is BLUE SPRINGS?

Blue Springs has been one of the three biggest schools in the state for some time. They are in Class 6 (biggest 32 teams in MIssouri)
2017 Runner Up
2016 Runner Up
2013 State Champs
2012 State Champs
2009 Runner Up
2003 State Champs.

There is kind of a rotation in Missouri between Blue Springs South, CBC, Rockhurst and Hazelwood Central make semi regular appearances in the state final in the big boys class.

A deeper Class 6 school in Missouri absolutely is a better apples-to-apples match up. Trinity is talented at several positions, but they're a small roster (25-30 kids total) with several playing significant minutes on both sides of the ball and/or starting. Colquitt has (and I'm not exaggerating) several HUNDRED kids in their program and 15+ coaches. Georgia high school football is no joke.

There are a ton of schools trying to find coaches, at the high school level AND in college. All jokes aside, I don't know what more Bailey has left to accomplish at Lamar. More money, a new challenge, or a change of scenery wouldn't be unreasonable reasons to move on. I originally made a hypothetical comment, but I could really see it happening if the right opportunity is there.

What happens at Lamar if Bailey DOES go? (Please leave Ampipe out of your reply).
Please leave Ampipe out of your reply!? Excuse me!? Ampipe isnt afraid to play anyone! Coach Bailey can only dream of ever coaching at Ampipe! You better be careful of what you say buddy!

My lil public high school down here in Georgia, will be playing a home game with them, on Aug. 25th of this year! Any info would be appreciated! HOPEFULLY, they won't be asking us to SHOW UM! Cause as one of our more rabid supporters will tell you! We are just a buncha poor, tiny lil, undersized hogs!

Perspective: Trinity doesn't even crack the top 50 teams in the state of Missouri.

Trinity has talent, I think coaching has held them back and did them a disservice, It would be interesting to see what a decent coach could do with that talent.

There's definitely a lot of strong, negative opinions about Trinity. Which is what it is ... but only 2 teams have beaten them in the last 2 years. Lamar and Lutheran North, so they're really the only teams that have bragging rights over them at this point. I also don't think there are many high schools in Missouri that truly want to face them voluntarily. One thing's for certain ... they'll definitely have a new HC this season. So, we all might get to find out what they can do with different play-calling.

Also, there's speculation that Trinity will get bumped up to Class 3. If that happens, it'll look like a collision course for Lamar vs Lutheran North again.

Trinity must really be building if they have the growth to move to class 3. I would say class 2 is theirs to win if they stay. Of the top 5 teams from last year (Lamar, Higginsville, Trinity, LN and Ava), Trinity is the only one that wasn't senior heavy and left with a lot of question marks. Lamar should be strong again but with a number of new starters you never know how it will play out. LN has the ability to reload every year. Higginsville and Ava will probably need to a couple of years to retool and Ava may be a class 3 candidate as well. Trinity will be senior heavy with a number of 3-4 year starters at most skill positions. I would say class 2 comes down to that coaching change and how the team responds.

I think you nailed it on the head. If I had to bet on it, I'd say that Trinity is going to be really difficult to beat in Class 2 OR 3 this Fall. Their QB has had his worst games vs Lamar (at State in 2016) and every time they played LN (4-5 INTs each game). This season though, he's a Sr. and I'd expect him to have his best games vs either school. If I were Lamar, I'd be more concerned about Trinity than LN because Trinity plays an offensive scheme with players at 3-4 positions that Lamar just can't match up against. It doesn't mean Lamar can't win the game. It just means that if Trinity throws that fade to the corner of the endzone to Washington, it's going to be difficult to stop. Trinity still has to stop Lamar's offense, but that offense is seriously difficult to scheme against because no one else in the state runs it. Lamar's game vs LN was helped by the extraordinary rain and sloppy field conditions. Lamar is still Lamar, but no one can assume a win when these 3 match up.

I don't think Higginsville or Ava really have a chance against any of the Top 3 in Class 2, but games are played on the field, so anything can happen. Idk how MSHSAA is grouping teams in classes this season or what enrollment numbers look like at Trinity. It'd be interesting to see them in Class 3, though.

Be interesting to see if they move to class 3, but I think that takes a huge road block named Lamar out of their way in their quest to "purchase" a state title.

I don't understand the animosity that Lamar fans have about Trinity. Lamar has won 7 straight championships and has never lost to Trinity. In fact, neither Lamar or any of the schools Lamar plays has crossed paths more than once, and that was when Lamar beat them 2 years ago at state. Lamar doesn't even play any of Trinity's opponents unless it's in the state semis. If it's a "private school" issue, then why isn't there the same venom for Valle Catholic? Trinity hasn't been significant in football until 2016, and even when they became notable they didn't make significant noise in terms of scholarship offers until this upcoming 2019 Class. Can you explain why they're such an issue for fans on this forum?

Maybe Lamar fans are truly scared that their streak will be broken?

Dont worry bullit, Ive got this one! Lamar fans hate Trinity fans just like how Ampipe fans hate Walnut Heights fan! They are rich jerks who think they are better than everyone else! Trinity has all the rich, fancy things in their stadium and star studded players on the team. Meanwhile Lamar is a small, blue collar, hard working town that gets nothing handed to them! Lamar EARNS everything that have achieved. How did they earn it? TOGETHER!

Are you new to Mosports? There has been alot of venom towards Valle Catholic and Private schools in General in the past, probably not so much currently. I think rural areas have more issues with private schools than say those in St Louis. For example our coach or any coach in SWmo cannot just go to a D-1 prospect and say hey come play for me and I will get you a scholarship like a coach at Trinity can in St Louis. We have to play the hand we are dealt there is no stacking the cards with more Kings and Aces. So yeah truth be told I have issues with it. I think private schools should be forced to play in class 4 and up, because when a class 2 school can go out and get more D-1 talent on their roster than the current class 6 state champion we have issues.

I respect Lamar for what they built, and while Lamar is a nice community and seems to be a nice place to live, most people are not going to move there just so their son can play football there or for Bailey. What they have built they have built from the Ground up, from my knowledge Bailey did not go out and recruit a bunch of D-1 Talent. Lamar is what Lamar is thru the work of the kids who live there.

NOT cool Bullit! I told you that I had this one! This post was 100% unnecessary!

Enjoying this thread ... I agree with the statement that a TON of what we see on this forum regarding Trinty (or other privates) is driven by a VERY wide variety of posters.
Many of us have a negative or somewhat negative take on how MSHSAA deals with (or doesn't deal with) the private schools in our state.
Also, those of us from outside the KC or St Louis metro area also have a hard time swallowing some of the flashy write-ups regarding those teams from high population areas. There is often a lot of hot air with very little knowledge of what talent fly-over country has to offer.
Lastly, it was talked about here and has been talked about on other boards as well ... Lamar was vocal about the level of respect they had for the Valle program. The two year deal with them was widely known to be one that began and ended on a very high level of respect ... between coaching staffs, players, and whole communities. Valle welcomed Lamar to town two years ago with an incredible level of hospitality and dignity. I believe Lamar returned that favor last year.
That's not the kind of thing we hear about out of the metro areas. Priorities are different. And, that's okay. I think the difference isn't a 'love Valle and hate Trinty' thing so much as it's just a 'built up mutual respect thing' vs. a 'the only thing we might know about you is the bloviated hype' thing.
Everyone gets to choose how they present themselves.

THAT tells me that you lads don't seem to have a great deal of COM PE TI TION! Conversely, in the past two decades or so, the big school state champions in Georgia have come from among Colquitt, Grayson, Norcross, Lowndes, Valdosta, North Gwinnett, Lagrange, Parkview, Camden Co., and Brookwood! Although no one has won more than three during that period of time! Colquitt has had six close calls in the finals or semis! And most of those champions finished in the national top five or better!

As an aside, there are currently 48 teams in the GHSA Class 7A! Down from 60 plus, when there were only six classes prior to 2016! Of course, we have over 10,000,000 people too!

Oddly enough, it isn't the privates that are the problem in Georgia! It's teams like Grayson, Marietta, and Buford, who rape and pillage the entire countryside of three or four metro ATL counties, to fill in their pesky deficiencies! In 2016, Grayson, through creative playa acquisitions, put together a roster with ten major college transfers from FOUR counties of about 2,000,000 total, who all started the following season!

No argument from me ... cheating is cheating!
Equally, lack of enforcement is also lack of enforcement.
Frustrating.

I seem to remember in 2013, when a 4A school in Florida(with 8 classifications) won the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!

As your resident Georgia Boy can attest! The GHSA has rules for metro, and then there are the REST of us folks in the sticks who get scrutinized at every turn! We had a QB who transferred into Colquitt from Michigan, to play for our coach! And the GHSA held up his varsity participation for a year! CONVERSELY, Grayson won the 7A state championship, after getting ten big time transfers from four adjacent metro counties! And one of um even went on facebook, to brag about having Jim Harbaugh over to his house, where he had lived all his life in a town thirty miles away!
