The accumulated evidence, capped by Ms. Hutchison’s testimony, will again raise another possible legal obstacle for Mr. Trump: disqualification from any future federal office under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. Known as the disqualification clause, the provision applies to anyone who took an oath to support the Constitution and then “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” against the United States or gave “aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.”

We have seen this challenge against others — like Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Madison Cawthorn of North Carolina — who were accused of insurrection. Triggering 14th Amendment challenges against Mr. Trump will be as simple as voters petitioning election officials in any state where he seeks to run to exclude him from the primary or general election ballot on the ground that he is constitutionally barred because of his role in the insurrection.

As with the Greene and Cawthorn cases, the challenges would surely wind up in court. Ms. Greene and Mr. Cawthorn were both allowed to run for office, but the cases established important precedents, including the willingness of election officials and courts to consider the issue.

Will her version of the story match the secret service?
Will they tell the truth? Will they testify under oath? She had already testified a ton of damaging info. What would she have to gain by making this story up? Nothing.

Bring in the guy that told her the story and see if he wants to repeat it under oath before a congressional committee. She never claimed she saw it. She sure did see and hear lots of other stuff she talked about under oath.

She provided a road map for the committee to follow.

I'd say the chances of a Ms. Hutchison ever being a good historian as a person involved in politics is near zero. Her accepted Profession is one based and steeped in lies. The word of the SS agents is way more Golden than someone that has went into the lie business as a chosen profession and is now dancing to her mistresses orders for career gain. I wonder what the pay out from Cheney is to Ms. H ??? bet it retirement worthy already.

He refuted it and he and others said they would do so under oath....of course they will not be called to testify as it would be a black eye on the circus.

If it ain't under oath it has zero relevance.

Like your GOP heroes. They lie lie lie lie because people like you believe them (in fact you adore their lies).
Put them under oath.

Anon sources and people that wont' go under oath are a big problem in this country.

That and all the trumptrolls taking the 5th.

Shameful.

Disqualification?.. Isnt that, in all honesty, what this is all about? Dems did everything they could to get rid of him during his Presidency and have not stopped attempts to make sure he does not return. Truth makes no difference.

Truth makes a rather large difference in this case.
