Desmet 38 - Rock Bridge 0 (Halftime)

They’re the real deal. And ... they’re young. Their junior class is loaded and their freshman class has kids that are playing already.

There’s a chance they have caught CBC, but either way I’d be shocked if there was any other team in the state that could give them a game.

Hopefully they're not as stacked as CBC last year.
I don't think they are because they're a little younger than them year and don't quite have the depth CBC 18' had in the trenches nor a quarterback as good as Gabbert. However, this De Smet team is more athletic.

More athletic !?
Yes. Jordan Johnson is going to Notre Dame as a wide reciever and another one who is pretty good as well. They have three tremendous running backs. All of them are getting looked at by D1 colleges. Jackailin Johnson is the No. 1 rated CB in Missouri and has an offer from Alabama. I could go on. They have several other pretty good players in every skill position.

Thats nuts, we (Joplin) might have one D1 player every couple year. We have 2 this year and that is rare.

Yea and they still aren’t more athletic than Last year CBC lol. Last year CBC is like a top 3 team in the history of Missouri football, super loaded. Those same Desmet guys were there last year and they got dog walked twice.

They definitely have better skill position kids. Hence more athletic in that area, which I should've been more clear about.

Higher ranked yes but do you seriously think Desmet has a better back than Bradford on their roster even tho Bradford went to Kent State and these guys will probably go big 12? Its not close

Johnson was there last year vs the same Skill potion players and did nothing in 2 games.

Higher recruited yes but not better and not better athletes. Eventually you’ll need some evidence of these claims. CBC offense/skill positions still look good this year even with no high level prospects. My bet is that they’ll dog walk Desmet again this time on National TV.

Cont: Recruitment is tricky in that way. For example I just saw ESTL vs Trinity this weekend. Lovette #7 for ESTL is like clearly jump off the screen the nicest weapon they have and best player. However its like 6 guys with more offers than him if he even has any.

I'm talking about this year. Bradford was an amazing running back for CBC.

Having seen both teams in person I still stand that De Smet better athletes overall, but it's close. CBC blocks very well as a unit to create space for their electrifying sophomore quarterback, Ayden Robinson-Wayne.

Like I said these same Desmet guys were present last year during those beat downs and these same CBC guys were there. My Money is on CBC at home tonight.

Totally different game vs last year. Gabbert is not there for CBC and that makes a huge difference. The soph QB is talented but he is not at the level Gabbert was last year in terms of passing. Johnson got open last year but the throws to him were a little off target. CBC's defense this year is very young and is not at the level they were last year so DeSmet will put up points. If DeSmet can not have turnovers and pound the rock with their running backs they should be able to keep out ahead. I like DeSmet in a close one.

Well well well

I’ve seen you make terrible predictions on your podcast.

Ive heard you and your co-cost sound like you know absolutely nothing about football and nothing about the teams in the area. Like your co-host is exceptionally bad. Both of you stutter through cliché football takes. Please you predicted 1 game. Relax.

Relax just joking around man. It was a great game and for what it's worth De Smet surprised us with the final score too and can't wait for most likely a round two in the Class 6 District 1 finals. CBC will be a better team by then as they're growing game-by-game.

Thank you for your input on our podcast and thanks for listening. We appreciate it. We never claim to know what we're talking about at a high level, but we try the best we can even though we're inexperienced podcasters. It would be awesome if others did one, but we haven't seen any so unfortunately it's up to us. However, it's weird that out of the 13 ratings we've gotten on iTunes all of them are five stars.

Since you live in St. Louis, if you ever want to join the show we'd be happy to have you on! I think more people makes it better conversation. I'm already very interested to hear what some our terrible predictions have been in your opinion?

P.S. Our picks of the week record this year is now 63-17 and our top 10 picks the last three weeks is 27-3.
