Cubs get Quintanna and give up top prospects to let everyone know they are serious about winning the division. I would suggest that they are not done. Will the Birds be willing to get out of their comfort zone to get what they have needed for 2+ years? (3,4,or 5 hitter) My prediction is they will do what they always do and trade low end prospects for a marginal fix which will lead to a 3rd place finish and an under .500 record. I sure hope I'm wrong. (Donaldson or Stanton)

My .02, Cards don't do anything worth chattering about. I agree with you vb that they will go with a very low impact player just to say they tried to make something happen... 78-84 is my prediction is where they end up...

The Cardinals just try to call up minor league rum dums and think the naive fan base will keep pouring thru the turnstiles. Sad.

I say it jokingly

But, the scary thing is..... it is highly possible they do this rather than even make an offer to Donaldson
I agree. They seem to be unable to find or unwilling to pay for a superstar. Waino and Yadi are too ole to be the face of the franchise. Martinez I'm not sure seems to be on his way , but still waiting after 3 + seasons.

We hang onto our prospects like they are gold and then they dont pan out. Four years ago Adams and Wong would have gotten us some quality help in a trade.

Hey Adams got us a 19 year old kid. Can't think of his name Big win for the Birds.:rolleyes:

Carlos Martinez has been one of the best 20 pitchers in all of baseball, and he's stayed reasonably healthy for the last couple seasons. He's fine.

I agree they do seem unwilling to pay for a stud.
