I found the newest pigskin preview from KOAM buried on their website. Not as in depth as previous years but I still enjoy their take on local teams and what the coaches say.

Of course they don't cover Springfield half of the COC but reading between the lines I think they are looking for Nixa to take the conference.

They have WC at 8-1, Carthage 7-2, Joplin 6-3. So I am guessing they pick all 3 lose to Nixa, Carthage and Joplin lose to Webb. Joplin loses to Carthage? To me a wildcard is Joplin getting an unusually inexperienced Webb City team week 1. And I believe Nixa doesn't get Webb until week 9.

Sounds like Carl Junction is struggling with numbers AND experience this year.

Joplin is going to be better than people think...I wouldn't be surprised one bit to see them run through the conference undefeated.
Don't know about undefeated but I agree I think they may be better than many people think this year. It's hard to envision Joplin or anyone hanging 3 in a row on Webb City but I think playing that game week one will give the eagles the best chance if Webb comes out a bit discombobulated like they were the first few games in 2016 or whenever that was.

just one persons observation but i was told the oline could be an issue. as mentioned beating wc 3 in row will be a tuff task. nixa and Carthage present their own problems as well. not really sold on Joplin this year but ill be a pessimist until joplin consistently gets the numbers up and reloads like wc instead of rebuilding.

update...offense went to 2 backs and a tightend...defense is posed to be rather salty.

CJ would be thrilled with 4-5.

It’s peppery according to Rawmeat.
