KOAM posted this years edition of the preview. It's basically just a website with responses to the forms completed by each teams coach. They do have predictions for each team as well - a few ones of note:

Carl Junction - 5-4 (no longer in the COC)
Carthage 8-1 My guess is they pick Carthage to beat Webb City and lose to Nixa. High expectations for this Carthage team. They've got a lot.
Joplin 4-5 Lost a ton. They may be better than some expect though. We'll see.
Neosho 3-6
Webb City 7-2 I'm guessing they are looking at Carthage and Nixa as possible L's.

They also like Seneca, Mt Vernon and Lamar to be very good.

They don't cover any schools that are outside their media market such as the rest of the COC.

Appreciate that KOAM still does this, but like others have said the quality of it has really gone down in recent years.
Helps Carthage gets Nixa at home for that game, they were really just one bad snap away from possibly winning that one last year.
Joplin at 4-5 seems low, regardless of the D1 talent they graduated.

Link for it… gotta scroll down a bit to get to the teams.

Joplin lost a lot and I know one kid that would have been a starter moved to CJ and another kid that would have been a starter moved to Neosho.

Does the coverage area align with 'The Map'?

Joplin lost a lot but they have others stepping up. Joplin will be a young team but I think they will have a better record than 4-5.

I heard of one that transfered to Neosho but he didn't even play last year. Out with an injury but he will be a good WR/DB for Neosho. I'm not sure who went to CJ.

His dad played at Southern 25 years ago or so. CJ hired his dad.

Yes Carthage was a bad snap from a chance to beat Nixa and the week prior was a dropped pass from beating Republic. Getting even one of those games would have changed the narrative of the season.

I also think Joplin will be better than 4-5. My guess is they have them beating Glendale, Neosho and Willard plus one of Kickapoo Lebanon or Republic. Joplin, like Webb City has a pretty tough first 3 weeks. Kickapoo hasn't been consistently good but O-zone gave them quite a bit of pre-season love. Lebanon is usually good but seems like a team Joplin could beat. Republic is in the same boat as Joplin with graduation. 5-4 seems more likely but 6-3 doesn't seem out the question unless they truly are thin on talent.

I think Joplin has a pretty good junior and senior class but nothing behind that. They couldn't take very many injuries.

Agreed, Republic is only returning 2 from last year's squad.

Joplin front 4 on defense will be tough, these are some big kids. Keep an eye on #55, he looks tough. #50 is pretty big as well. The DE's are both 230 lb kids. And the Linebackers are all 200lbs kids. I believe any prominently run teams are going to have a tough time with group. Joplin's secondary is experienced as well but I believe they will have a new SS & FS.

Kickapoo went regular season 8-2 last year and 7-3 year before...graduate 20 some seniors last year, have nearly 30 this year....seems to be a pretty good program to have that happening.

Think that is just class 6 enrollment numbers. They shoukd have 25 to 30 a class.

The Ozarks Pigskin Preview is now available in hard copy a few places in SWMO. Got mine at Randy's Drive-in in CJ.
That's great news, I assumed they weren't printing anymore after they had gone exclusively "digital" either last year or the year before.

KOAM is exclusively digital. This is the Ozarks preview out of Springfield that has most area teams. Ned Reynolds is the main one who does this.
