Classifications are out - Class 3 review

I think Kennett will beat Valle. Kennett is really big up front, skills are super athletic, offense will motion into advantaged blocking schemes and the defense will blitz all night. Valle's continued cupcake of a schedule will not prepare them for Kennett. If Valle is going to stay Class 3 they need to move into a tougher conference or go independent. Now that they are Class 3 it makes sense for those JCC schools to finally get rid of Valle. Maybe they can get into the MAFC with Central & Co. No reason now not to add them into the conference since they are the same classification.
FWIW they definitely have weaker teams in their current conference, but the top end is as competitive as the MAFC White is. Valle beats SG most years, Perryville has trouble with St. Vincent most years, Fredericktown got turbo'ed by Jefferson already this year. The only team that would be a step up is Park Hills.

And Kennett plays who?

Kennett plays half their schedule against Class 3 teams or larger. Valle only has 3 teams classified as Class 3. Herky is Class 3 because of enrollment only (definitely not talent) and they need to be Class 1 or 2. Orchard Farm was a pickup because Bayless cancelled. Otherwise Ste Gen is the only legit class 3 team they have on the schedule.
Maybe Kennett's schedule is different because of Covid, but their schedule was mostly Class 3+ last year. Valle should have gotten out of the I-55 Conference years ago. Hopefully ADs or Supers drop of JCC drop Valle and start their own conference to include Bayless and Vincent.

Ava should clear District 5. District 6 has some good teams with Cassville, Mt Vernon, Aurora. I can imagine a rematch later on between Cassville and Mt Vernon could almost go either way.

District 7 you have Odessa and District 8 is wide open from the looks of things. Could be easy sailings for Odessa till the Quarterfinals when they would be playing possibly Ava or who ever can come out on top between Cassville, Mt Vernon, and Aurora.

If Lutheran North does qualify for state play they could be given a rematch game against Blair Oaks in Sectionals which would be HUGE.

District 1 you got Valle Catholic, District 2 you got Park Hills and St Clair. Honestly since I don't know much on them and since I know about the fire power of Lutheran North and Blair Oaks (seen all of their games this year) I would give a nod to those 2 teams at this time in quarters. Valle Catholic has been a force to reckon with over the past few years in Class 1 and even so far this year. To really get an understanding on where they would stand against a true Class 3 state opponent I would need to see a little bit better matchup first as stated with Kennett at the end of districts. I have seen Blair Oaks put a thumping on teams and then that team would go into another person's house and put a thumping on them. They are better this year than they were last year when they fell to Cassville in quarters. Lutheran North on the other hand has yet to play a game but we all know they are usually good to go against who ever they are matched up with. To say Valle Catholic will be able to cruise through either Blair Oaks and or Lutheran North would be a far fetched fantasy.
Don’t think Buffalo can beat Ava again?

Question is don't think Buffalo can beat Ava for the for 3 out of 4.. Ava did win at home in OT on a 2 point conversion last year. Buffalos won 9 games the last 2 year losing District championship to Springfield Catholic & Blair Oaks. So losses to defending state champs, runner up in state, other loss to a undefeated FG who lost to Lamar in District. Guess it makes since to count them out to a team the already beat this year!

One of a scant few things that was 2020 proof. The only statistical advantage would be if a team plays up a few classes those points are not eroded away as much as a full season would normally. We're talking a couple of points here, so that could be significant when we've seen seeds come down to the hundredth of a point.
This is probably controversial I'd love to see mshsaa throw a bonus point a game for teams that play as a way to reward teams that played a full schedule in my opinion a 7-2 should be seeded higher than a 3-0 team but lower than 7-1 team I know it is not anyones fault they played fewer games but it is silly to pretend that 3-0 is better than 7-2 or 8-1

If it was the teams choice i would totally agree with you, but its not and there are a ton of kids dying to play right now. Coaches, kids, parents all hoping to get even 3 games in. its completely unfair to those kids, who would have gladly gone anywhere to play if they could have

I'm not disagreeing that it is unfair to those kids but it is also unfair to reward them with a high seed for playing a couple games when another team has a bigger sample size the tweak I'm suggesting would be a 3-0 over a 5-4 just not over 7-2 or 8-1 team so at 3-0 you'd be a 3 instead of a 1 seed which i think is plenty fair.

Ava has already lose to Buffalo this year, Ava couldn’t even beat Liberty last week....I’m going to say they won’t even finish in top 4 in the conference
