Anyone done a breakdown of classes with changes next year and how they would look this year? Isn't next year 64 in class 1 and 53 in classes 2-6? I know can't do the success factor but curious who all moves up to 6, 5 etc.
Yep without the multiplier next year you may hear a lot of people cryingI have a feeling people will be shocked when privates move down a class and some of the bigger 3 and 4 teams get bumped up. I think there are a lot of privates who don't have success and are playing up a class, and will end up "skewing" things.

There’s a success multiplierBetween the multiplier going away and the evening out of the classes, its going to make a real difference. Most folks near the line should be ready to be up a class next year... Just one or two schools could make a real change in how the district alignment will shake out too.
I get that there is a success multiplier, and while it will effect a few like LN, however there are a lot of privates that with a multiplier may be playing up a class, so when they drop down, everything else will move up. The private success as a whole is not as great as we all think.
Blue Springs will be the largest. Rockhurst and SLUH will stay in C6. Gendered private schools have never had the DOUBLE multiplier and will not have the 1.35 multiplier.
Under the old (current) system, single-gender schools were first hit with having their enrollment doubled, then had the 1.35x multiplier applied. (At least if my aging memory serves correctly ...)You’re saying that gendered private schools DON’T currently get hit with TWO 1.35x multipliers? One for being private and a second for being single-sex? I believe you’re incorrect that they won’t retain their 1.35x multiplier for being gendered.
That is correctI could be wrong, but I thought that single gender schools will still be hit with a 2x multiplier, under the new rules.
Yes, I think we all understand that. But what some people don't seem to understand is that there are a whole lot of private schools that dont even win districts. Those will be going by their actual enrollment now. (Unless they only have one gender attending). That will cause a lot to drop a class or at least fall behind some public schools in numbers and perhaps push them over the number to move up.There’s a success multiplier
Isn't rockbridge public?EVERY private school will initially drop because the current 1.35 multiplier will disappear. Gendered private schools will still have their 1.35, but will no longer get a DOUBLE multiplier. MSHSAA is waiting until after the postseason to even determine how much success over the last 6 years will trigger classification bumps. So, my expectation is that the ceiling will be set by schools like Rockbridge and CBC. Lutheran North hasn’t won State, but will have tons of multiplier points for advancing deep into the playoffs. Then MSHSAA will work backwards from the high numbers to hand out who jumps up one or two classes.
He meant RockhurstIsn't rockbridge public?
I don't think this is accurate. For example, kirksville is in class 4 and their enrollment is 560, which would be class 3 according to the breakdown above.Class Breakdowns according to MSHSAA in 19-20
Football 11-man 1-195 (64) 196-342 (64) 343-563 (64) 564-1021 (64) 1022-1311 (36) 1312-2055 (32)
That is based on 2018-2019, they haven't released the 2019-2020 enrollments yetI don't think this is accurate. For example, kirksville is in class 4 and their enrollment is 560, which would be class 3 according to the breakdown above.

I think the biggest issue is the disparity of smallest to largest in each class. The biggest two classes have the smallest ratio, with ratio of smallest to largest probably having the least impact when schools are that large.Class Breakdowns according to MSHSAA in 19-20

So, these changes could possibly be happening next year?I think the biggest issue is the disparity of smallest to largest in each class. The biggest two classes have the smallest ratio, with ratio of smallest to largest probably having the least impact when schools are that large.
Class 6 1.566 ratio
Class 5 1.282
Class 4 1.810
Class 3 1.641
Class 2 1.744
Ive heard class 6 has really lobbied hard to stay at only 32 schools.
If they keep 6 at 32 that would take 17 of the biggest schools out of each class and move them up. Obviously this could change with schools going 8 man, or any additions of schools starting football.
You would think with 8 man growth class 5 and 6 could combine and we would have 64 in each class.
Next year will have the most change in my memory. Too many unknown factors to project anything at this point:So, these changes could possibly be happening next year?
Rockhurst (all boys), St. Teresa's Academy (KC, all girls), Visitation Academy (StL) are three that pop into my aging mind fairly quickly.Whats privates Schools are single-gender?
CBC, DeSmet, Priory. There are several all girls as well.Rockhurst (all boys), St. Teresa's Academy (KC, all girls), Visitation Academy (StL) are three that pop into my aging mind fairly quickly.
