I was feeling sorry for St. Louis University High Bills coaches Erwin Claggett and James Washington during the Christmas Tournament @ Meramec. The SLUH Bills lost 2 of 3 games and went home feeling bad about their performance and the early exit. After seeing the top teams play in class 5 districts 1-4. I penciled in Webster as a near -lock for a final four birth in class 5.
Few fans knew SLUH had a player ineligible for the first semester. Mikey Sanders a 5'10" sophomore guard is back and so are the Junior Bills. The Junior Bills with Mikey Sanders in the line up have reeled off 3 of the biggest wins of the season and could change the final four rep in class 5 districts 1-4.

The Bills have defeated--
DeSmet 73-39----------Vianney 55-53------------ Hazelwood Central 58-47

The SLUH Bills will play highly regarded Belleville West and the # 1 small school in St. Louis Belleville Althoff this weekend. I see it almost impossible to defeat these 5 teams in a row. If Erwin Claggett and James Washington can come up with a game plan to defeat Belleville West and Althoff, Jay Blossom and his Webster Groves Statesmen knows Class 5 district 2 " will not be easy ".

Class 5 district 1 ( @ Northwest in Cedar Hill )
Poplar Bluff or Jackson

Class 5 District 2
@ SLUH or Webster

Class 5 district 3 ( Pick-um )
Battle
Zumwalt West
Holt
Timberland
@Troy

Class 5 district 4 ( Pick-um )
Francis Howell
@Zumwalt South

Metro,

I am curious to know who you have picked for the final 4?

I am not familiar with Districts 1-8. I get all my info there from you. Based on what I am seeing my pics are as follows

District 1-4 = SLUH
District 5-8 = Chaminade
District 9-12 = Kickapoo
District 13-16 = Lee's Summit

Ru, I have to agree with on your four picks. The only question mark would be districts 1-4 ( Webster or SLUH ) The district will be played @ SLUH which could give the advantage to the Bills. The Bills play the St. Louis area # 1 small school this weekend ( Belleville Althoff ). The favorite here is Belleville Althoff but the Bills have a chance. The SLUH Bills play in the tough Metro Catholic League which is the top league in Missouri. The Bills play a much tougher schedule then the Webster Groves Statesmen if that means anything. Webster coach Jay Blossom has to be a little nervous on this one but so is SLUH coaches Erwin Claggett and James Washington.

I would bet the SLUH Bills coaching staff of Erwin Claggett and James Washington could defeat the Webster coaching staff of Jay Blossom and Scott Stallcup in a two on two game.

Sanders was not ineligible, please be careful before posting info about high school kids that is not correct.

MOsportsStaff, why was Sanders not playing? Was he ineligible by the coaching staff or the administration.

Staff, if Sanders was not playing, who made him ineligible? Was it the coaching staff , the school administration, his parents or others. I'm guessing the MSHSAA had nothing to do with Snaders being ineligible.
