Class 5--Districts 1-4
District 1 @ Poplar Bluff--Poplar Bluff should roll over Jackson to advance.

District 2 @ Timberland--One of the weakest districts in class 5. Timberland or Zumwalt West will advance to the Sectional but Poplar Bluff ends the class 5 district 2 winner in a big way.

District 3 @ McCluer North--Hazelwood Central or McCluer North will advance to the Sectional but their season ends in the Sectional.

District 4 @ St. Louis University High---I see Chaminade defeating SLUH and advancing to the Sectionals.

Chaminade appears to be in a locking position to be a class 5 final four team in Columbia and could repeat as champions again.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Class 5--Districts 5-8
District 5 @ Eureka--I'm picking Howell but the Vikings are not in a locking position but the end is near for whoever wins district 5.

District 6 @ Parkway South--I see CBC and Kirkwood in the finals with CBC advancing.

District 7 @ Lindbergh---I have Webster Groves clocking all teams in district 7

District 8 @ Jeff City--This district is very weak with the end near. I have Webster clocking the Jays in the the Sectional.

Sectionals--CBC over Howell to advance to the Quarters
Sectionals-Webster rolls Jeff City to advance to the Quarters

Quarter-Finals with a final-four birth @ stake. I have Webster defeating CBC by double digits.

Class 5--I see three teams @ even odds to win class 5.
1. Webster
1. Chaminade
1. Springfield Kickapoo

The Kickapoo Nixa game should be a good one this year. Depending which Kpoo team shows up. They have been really hot at times and really cold as well.

Rub-When talking class 5 state championship. I'm not sure Nixa and Republic should be included with the likes of a Webster or Chaminade. Webster will be the real deal starting on January 25th. C. Gordon 6'8" should be Missouri high school's most dangerous force near the basket on 1-25-17. Webster is capable of running the table the minute C. Gordon is inserted in the Webster lineup.
Chaminade is impressive as well with talent, and size that no other high school team in Missouri can match. Chaminade is a match up nightmare for any top team in the mid-west.

I am excited to see how this year plays out. I agree that Chaminade will make the final four. I have heard all of the hype and believe Gordon will make an immediate impact taking Webster to the final 4 as well. Kickapoo was an early favorite in my area and I still believe they will be there as well. They have started off slow this season with a 4 point loss to Jonesboro in a game that could have went either way. Then a horrible showing in Fayetteville, losing in the final to LSW. They did seem to get their groove back this week dropping 102 points routing Branson. It is hard for me to place Nixa or Republic above Kpoo. (Granted I am a little bias In the Chiefs favor due to my nephew playing this year) The season is still young and I believe Kickapoo's tough schedule this year will prepare them for a final four run.

He's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!! Welcome back, Dude. What about FZN in District 2? They're not too shabby.

#5 Class 5 Kickapoo(6-2) - 75
Ozark(4-3) - 48

The Chiefs now have defeated Ozark seven straight times to take a commanding 29-8 lead in the all-time series. 155-52 all-time against the COC.

Between Tuesday and tonight, I've watched Branson get dunked on seven times in a week. Freeman had four tonight for Hillcrest.

Going to be interesting when Sikeston plays Chaminade later in the year 1-10-17 @ Chaminade

Train, The Sikeston Bulldogs must play their best game of the season to compete with one of the tallest teams in the mid-west. The Chaminade guards can be 6'6". They will bring in 6'6"--6'11" off the bench. They have four big freshmen with size who will see playing time. Train, two or more players are from out of United States. The only team in St. Louis who can compete with Chaminade appears to be Webster and that's with C. Gordon 6'8" in their line up.

Webster is very good and defeated Poplar Bluff ( Without Marcedus ) 91-56 last Friday evening. C. Gordon will be eligible 1-25-17 which could make Webster a big-big threat to win the class 5 state championship and a lock for the final-four however Chaminade is the defending class 5 state champions and many fans believe they will repeat again in 2017.

Train, Chaminade is a stacked legal teams ( Kinda like Scott County Central playing teams under a 100 enrollment, it is very close to being unfair ) and it's only gonna get worse in the future. They have dorms, money and can enroll students from any place on the planet and they are not players who were cut from their 8th grade team. NBA star David Lee's dad sits on the bench for Chaminade if that means anything.

You know if some of theses schools like recruiting players from all over the world just to win a basketball game then oh well hope it makes them feel happy

Yeah your probably right but we heard that last year against Vashon ,oh well we will still show up

Train, Chaminade is not recruiting basketball players. These are students who just happened to try out for the basketball team and some even make the team but not all. The Sikeston @ Chaminade game will be played on a Tuesday evening which means a long bus ride for the Sikeston team. The Bulldogs will be breaking routine which could result in the outcome of the game. The Sikeston pressing defense could be a positive thing for the Bulldogs but it's down from there.

Not breaking routine we play all our games on Tuesday and Friday, the only time we break routine is when we play the St Dominic and Zumwalt tourney we have done pretty well in those..... Nothing they do will scare us they can be 10' tall it really doesn't matter

Train, the St. Dominic and the Zumwalt North tournament teams are not in the same league as Chaminade, Webster, CBC, Vashon and St. Louis University High. I'm not saying Sikeston and Poplar Bluff ( with Marcedus ) can not compete with the top five teams on the Missouri side in St. Louis but I will say no team in the St. Dominic and Zumwalt North tournament could prevent the clock from running against the above.

St. Louis basketball is weak but we do have 7-8 teams who Sikeston and Poplar Bluff should not schedule for " Homecoming ". Here are some teams in the St. Louis area to schedule for Homecoming.

1. Rockwood schools
2. Parkways
3. Zumwalt Schools
4. Wentzville Schools

Would Rockwood Summit and Independence Van Horn have the worst Class 4-5 boys programs in the state over the past 20-30 years? I know Van Horn was good '82-'84, but Glendale was 6-20 (twice) and beat them by double-digits in the 90's.

Actually that is exactly what they are doing. They are recruiting basketball players. Just like the other big privates in the city as well as Vashon, which has summer tryouts to see which players they want to enroll at Vashon. But Train is right, Sikeston is not afraid of anybody and will show up and compete. They may not win every game, but they will put up a fight and are capable of beating anybody as they nearly did against Vashon last year at state. Sikeston is not breaking any routine. They have nine trips to St. Louis this year and routinely travel all over the place just to find games. Teams in the SEMO area have given up trying to play them (except conference teams).

Metro-dude.. Whats your thoughts on the Ramey kid. I saw him Saturday again and that kid is very good and special. Does it all. You don't really mention him when you mention Webster or that much at all.

Courtney Ramey 6'4", 165 lbs.-------Courtney has a high basketball IQ and a coach on the floor. Courtney does everything well on the basketball court. FG 41-72-56.9%. The top college coaches are finding their way to Roberts gym in Webster Groves to see if their scouting reports are true. I have personally seen Louisville coach Rick Pitino and Kansas State head coach Bruce Weber in attendance @ Roberts gym. I'm guessing Pitino and Weber have added Courtney Ramey to their wish list.

At first, I though the big time coaches were their to get a look @ Carte'are Gordon 6'9". 255 Lbs but it's plain to see Courtney Ramey can hold his own with the top players in America. Webster coached by Jay Blossom is one of the biggest 3-point threats in Missouri. It is frightening to me see how our top high school coaches combat this 3-point threat, plus one of the most dominate big men in Missouri in Carte'are Gordon. If Webster's opponent drop down on Carte'are, this could be a mistake because of Sophomore Ray Adams 6'2" who treats 3 pointers like a free throw.

mfloyd, I was trying to be kind to the Sikeston Bulldogs by using the routine thing. I was able to see the Bulldogs in the Webster Jam. The Bulldogs have a good team and appear to be making an effort to improve their schedule. We only have 7-8 teams here in St. Louis who can compete with Sikeston however Vashon is one of them and most likely will be the Sikeston Bulldog's opponent in the quarter-finals of the state playoffs to see who make a trip to Columbia.

Sikeston will be playing @ St. Dominic and the Zumwalt North tournament. I have the Sikeston Bulldogs extending their winning ways by winning both tournaments.
