Doesn't matter who it is.............I always say the defending champ is the champ until knocked out ergo Ladue still holds the favorites role in my mind.

As for down the road before we crown a C4 champ I would say the 1-2-7-8 should come down to the winner of a now very likely D8 rematch between Platte County and Smithville with Grain Valley still lurking as a potential long shot. The other side I would realistically crop down to Ladue, Webb City, Camdenton and West Plains with Helias Catholic perhaps having a long shot.

Webb with a a stronger strength of schedule. Carthage win for Webb better than the St Louis U win for Ladue. The Carl Junction win better than Webster Groves for Ladue. Then Ladue has played three dreadful teams well below anyone that Webb has played. Neosho and Branson are much higher rated than any of Ladue's other opponents. It is a no-brainer, really. Webb is better.

Sometimes strength of schedule is an invitation to injuries/fatigue. Just saying............

I am a CJ fan but we are that close to being in the top 10?

Losing to Webb and Carthage who are ranked high hurt CJ computer ranking very little. That’s why the entire ranking thing is a joke. Bolivar is 5-0 but CJ would be 5-0 playing the same opponents

Strength of schedule should play more of a role in the district standings.

I am not saying it should not but "strength of Sched." continues to build as previous opponents keep winning does it not? I mean if the team you play week 1 goes 8-1 you gain more points than if they go 1-8.

Ladue no question has a weak schedule this season, however they did put up 48 points against SLUH who is better than their record indicates when they were lesser conditioned at the time due to having played just four minutes the week before. A good indicator of where the Rams are at is against Kirkwood in week nine. They still have a solid defense, a great air attack, but a lesser run game. Henry McIntosh is right there with Paxton DeLaurent as the best quarterback in Class 4.

I will say that if Ladue and Webb played right now I'd pick the Cardinals.

And WC played #4 in Class 6 Joplin to a close finish despite 5 turnovers. With no turnovers, WC wins that one by 14. Webb looks to be the runaway winner this year.

Someone isnt better based off perceived strength of schedule. Carthage and CJ arent even actually good. This same Ladue schedule looked different last year because Kirkwood was actually solid. Ladue is better, again.

Jesus Christ you know how many games would be different with "no turnovers"? Most pathetic excuses Ive ever seen on here.

Reality: Joplin up 28-7 at half.

Better football team by a lot.

Gonna go out on a limb and say Webb doesn't get by the district 5 champ. The Camdenton/Helias game will be a good game. Helias is the real deal this year.

I would buy in on Helias had they given Ritter a better game.............good as I suspect that STL small class private is.

You know Camdenton is seething for a chance to make amends for last year...............IF it is indeed Webb at Camdenton that is about as must see a game as there will be the entire playoffs regardless of class.

Sorry I am putting these together on the fly..................Camdenton has a major test at Lebanon this Friday. If the Jackets win this one the OC could wind up a three way tie.

Not an excuse, but when you consider the quality and rating of a team, you have to consider abberant games with a grain of salt.

The bigger factor is those first two weeks are often poor indicators of how teams are going to look come November/December. Good coaches/programs make adjustments PLUS some teams get banged up early then return to full strength (Fort O last year is a great example).

I agree with CJ, but Carthage is a great team.

I agree that Webb is really good and is likely the favorite, I'm not sure how they would roll that side though.

They play one team that beat them last year in Ladue and they only beat Camdenton by 1. I'm not sure about Ladue, but Camdenton is much better than last year.

Ive always said Webb is hard to beat on the field and even harder to beat on web sites like this lol

Joplin tried to give it back to Webb in the second half with a fumble and a rare blocked punt that Webb recovered in the end zone for a free TD. Bottom line is Joplin won. Joplin sealed that game with a 3 or 4 minute drive to run out the clocked in victory formation at Webbs 10 yard line.

Helias has played one good team this year and took a beat down

They play 0-5 “Father Tolton” Friday night that should be a great game

Desert the last game of the year should get them tuned up for districts

And Webb won the second half 21 - 7. Better team by a lot.

They won once the other team let up after dominating and still won the game.

I dont expect you to be rational I mean you still think KC is even relevant in Football in 2019, they havent had an elite team in a while.

and here I was going to have a logical debate
Well except for Class 6 Joplin ,,,Webb has given up 0-6-0-7

You think it’s not a real possibility Webb puts a goose egg on the Lakers??

Camdenton has beat Waynesville,Parkview, West Plains in OT, Central, Hillcrest,,,,,,except West Plains they all really suck

I definitely think its possible for them to beat the Lakers by a decent amount, I just don't think a goose egg is remotely possible. The least amount of points they have scored this year is 37 and that was against a tough West Plains team.

Plus, they scored 27 against them in the playoffs last year, the Lakers offense is just as good as last year, Webb city has only shutout Branson and CJ (who's offense isn't very good), and the Lakers have the number 1 scoring offense in the state (57 pts per game).

And Webb won the second half 21 - 7. Better team by a lot.
Joplin was destroying Webb and for some absurd reason started pulling starters and almost paid for it. However I think Webb has improved by leaps and bounds since then.

You think Camdenton is that much better than Carthage???

not sure what that has to do with it... I think they have a much more explosive offense than Carthage. If you are pointing to the fact that Webb held Carthage to 7, you need to look at the fact that they allowed 35 to Joplin. Like I said, i think Webb would win if they played, just dont think they would shut the Lakers out.
