I have to clarify every year but there are those, especially you, that fail to listen.
I am not a private school boy ! I am a PSRS member and my kids all graduated from a public school.
I understand and accept that metro privates are different than regional privates and both are different from parish school privates.
I also understand that MSHSAA is an association made up of member schools. Each member is allowed one vote on any and every proposal. Those of you that bash MSHSAA are ironically bashing mostly public schools since they make up the majority of the association.

To answer your question, I reached out to a source at SG that had no idea what I was talking about.
I also reached out to a Valle source that laughed in my face…. Saying they had a transfer but is not a QB. He transferred because he wanted to play with his brother that is one of the JV QBs. The transfer is a project. 5’6” 110 lbs. and 6 flat in the 40.

If separation is all it took to stop all the complaining on this board, lets do it. Or would the same guys who got knocked out the playoffs when they were HS by a private school and can't get over it still complain all winter long?

Oh how soon we forget the wailing and gnashing a few years back when St Mary's truckstuck Valle and the valle honks tears flowed about how unfair it was to have to play a school with such a talent pool.
Funny part is I don't think said honks understand how foolish they looked.
If we separated there would be rejoicing by 80% and utterly meltdown by 20%. Well lower each side by 2% and 4% will not do either
Honestly I don't care about playing other privates. The only thing I would be worried about is the huge gap size in schools. 350 to a 1500 all boys school is pretty damn large spread for one class or even two. To hear just recruit better is not a real answer to the situation. Granted there is no good way around it so it if happens it happens.

how is that different from a class 1 school with a student population in district of under 200 playing a school with a student 'population' triple their size? This has been happening for 40 years in class 1.
Apples to oranges. In mine one school has 350 boys/girls vs 1500 all boys. In your scenario both schools have the same number of students. It also took more area to get to that many students for privates because every one is not required to go to said school. Did privates have an advantage back then? Absolutely. Personally I think the Championship factor has worked as intended in the smaller classes. How many privates are left in Class 1 now? After this year I would guess SV will be in 2. I would like to see no cap on Champ factor to help with the STL all star teams. Like we said before it doesn't work for the teams that are already class 6.

Not at all. If a private school wants to increase their enrollment to hang with the big dogs they can. I just hear a lot of excuses why it can't be done.
Valle had classes of 90+ in the 80s. Is the education there so bad they can't attract that number again?

that was an example. They used their advantage for decades in class 1.
Back to the point though: They have the capability to attract many more students but they aren't for some reason.
Let me guess it to keep the enrollment as low as possible? Or it could be the lack of good paying jobs that were near by at the time of their runs. PPG and Doe Run are both now closed. It is easy to say just recruit more. You have to find more familes willing to pay for a private education, build the infrastructure to support the students, and find more teachers. Not an easy task these days.

I know the private schools don't have that and I'm sorry. Guess getting kids from all over the map has to have its drawbacks somewhere.

the teams dont have that many more kids the school does it also includes kids that private schools wont allow in. They also can select which athletes to steal from other districts and whether to provide a scholarship or not. Honestly I figured you to be a much more reasonable person but if you wanna play dumb and act like the fields are level we wont get anywhere

I am not reasonable just because we disagree? Next year Helias will be in Class 6 and playing teams with 900 more kids. That is fact. There is a huge difference between Class 4 teams and Class 6. If you dont think that equalizes things then you are the one being unreasonable.
Your school was free to leave the club any time over the last 40 years if they thought it was so much of an advantage.
I no longer care who wins what…private or public…I am more concerned about performance of Missouri students in the classroom….
