Class 1 Football

It's "great" when you aren't any good because you have a chance to win some games. Never meant it was "great" as in mighty. WEMO is the same, 1 or 2 good teams each year. To my knowledge, Miller has only played one WEMO team, seems like we won that one. No point in driving to KC to play a team you can play in your backyard (Marionville and Skyline come to mind).

I was wondering if they were available to replace McAuley.

Actually most years WEMO has 3 or more 'good teams'. There were years when Adrian was in a district with 4 top 10 teams.

Miller's only played one WEMO team because they either never make the playoffs or don't advance far enough. Don't use the Valle excuse. I know Adrian has played plenty of teams down that way in playoff runs including LW, PC and GF.

In millers defense they were in a district with Thayer, Marionville, and Greenfield around 2007ish. Greenfield was the only team not in the top ten out of that district with 4 losses that year I believe. 3 losses in district and the other was Pierce City I believe another good SRVC team at the time

He has selective memory.
While Miller was losing to Valle in the quarters, those WEMO teams were still playing each other. When Valle wasn't a monster Thayer was a beast as well as Marionville. There have been years the WEMO had a couple real good teams but no more so than the SRVC/Mid Lakes/ Midwest. Greenfield, Lockwood, Pierce City, and Miller have all had real good teams multiple times.

Adrian made some runs when Valle was down. Where was Miller?

Remember Greenfield in the quarters got destroyed by I think Tipton. In Westran case a few years, you just need 1 really good player to win in football. Jacoby and Hunt were BEASTS that led them to the championship games.

Finally a little Class 1 smack talk. Takes me back to the days when I'd sit in the computer lab and talk smack. Unfortunately there's really nothing in the WEMO worth talking smack about.
I think we've already established the conference goes 1. Osceola, 2. Midway, 3. Adrian, 4. Drexel, 5. Archie, 6. Appleton City 7. Rich Hill.
And low and behold, Osceola (the same school that was a door mat when we'd sit in the computer lab and talk smack in the late 90's) went and got turbo clocked by Lincoln. LINCOLN? Jesus.
Call me when Valle plays Lamar or East Buch.

Destroyed no. Beat yes.

It should be an interesting playoff in the south region this year. Lockwood, Thayer, Marionville, Skyline and Valle should make for some good football. I can't wait!

Class one will always be the same. You have a team that goes on a run for a few years then goes back down, that's just the way it goes. No one is going to get passed Valle anytime soon. I wish someone would just to see someone else win it.

Honestly, I think if Valle's gonna get taken down, this would be the year that it happens. Class 1 is stacked on their side of the bracket.
