Class 1 champions

With 8-man football, the success multiplier, and dropping class 1 to 36 teams(strange number) - there are 13 schools that have won class 1 state championships and are still in class 1. So, more than a third of class one schools have won state championships (I wonder how that compares to the other classes).

Here’s the list and please correct if wrong - Cass-midway, Windsor, Penney, Milan, Miller, Chaffee, Hayti, Marionville, Salisbury, West Platte, North Platte, Marceline, St. Vincent.

Class 2 has 12 teams with state titles (out of 57)
Class 3 has 19 teams with state titles (out of 56)
Class 4 has 13 teams with state titles (out of 56)
Class 5 has 17 teams with state titles (out of 56)
Class 6 has 18 teams with state titles (out of 42)

I don’t believe Cabool and Louisiana won Class 1 titles. Semantics I guess…

Cabool won a state title in the late 60s I believe.

Cabool won Class 2 (formerly known as 2A) in 1968, so while they haven’t won a Class 1 title, they have won a state title.
