After sitting in the rain to enjoy a Joplin win over Poo last week, as uninspiring as it was, I’m going to forego the trip to Nixa for the inevitable and head to the Maple Leaf town for what I hope to be a competitive rivalry game. Should be a good atmosphere tonight. There may have been a couple hundred Eagle fans in the stands last week? Has Mac improved his team since the first meeting? We’ll find out soon. We all know Rod’s history of rectification.

I could see this going either way. Carthage has lost a major player and Webb has gained a key player. Carthage probably has a size advantage and they won the first game. But I think anyone who has watched Carthage for very long is thinking they have read this book before. Carthage thinks it’s their year and on paper it is but when push comes to shove Webb city is deeper and the aren’t going to miss tackles. It appears they have found all the right kids and have them in the right places so it’s that’s the case I could see this game going their way. Everyone in Webb I’ve talked to including a couple players 100% expects they win this game. They have been saying that since the first meeting. But we will see, Carthage will give them all they’ve got, just too bad they have only had one game to adjust to playing without 81 on the field.
