Wow! What a upset! First COC win. Armentrout had 14 points for CJ. Very, very, very, few turnovers.
I was amazed at this score.Wow! What a upset! First COC win. Armentrout had 14 points for CJ. Very, very, very, few turnovers.
Yes--He seems (I don't know him personally) to be a man of great integrity. Sometimes the rewards are off court. But I admit--I'm kind of getting impatient, but I know it takes time. At least He tried a few different things last game (varsity players played some jv, etc.)Congratulations to Coach Brock and his TEAM! Whatever happened to all of the turmoil at CJ when he first went there? Oh yeah, I forgot that when you leave a great coach alone to create a winning culture, you will be rewarded in the end... Congrats also to the Carl Junction administration for sticking with one of the best coaches in the business! I promise, that would not have happened everywhere... Building a program takes patience and time!!! Coach Brock will get it done!!!
I'm hoping and counting on it for the next 4 years (my nephew is the freshman on the team).I do know Coach Brock personally, and consider him to be not only a man of great integrity, but an outstanding teacher of the game as well - one of the best I have ever been around. If you truly care about the CJ program, get behind your coach and support him! They don't induct just anybody into the Hall of Fame. You are very lucky to have him!!!
Thank you--and he's is having a hard time right now. He's also lost his confidence in his shooting. Hoping coach can get him back on track. One last piece of advice if you don't mind... Allow your nephew to be a freshman... priority one is that he has fun and gets better. Even if he is a great shooter, ball handler, defender, whatever... it takes time for young players to grow into their roles. Many times the challenge is more mental than physical. I have had freshmen that were without question the best shooters in the program, but if they couldn't understand the offensive and defensive principles we were trying to teach, or couldn't handle the physicality of playing with older players, they had a hard time seeing the floor. Again... trust your coach. You have a great one. I am certain Coach Brock has your nephew's and the team's best interests at heart.
He will have his work cut out for him as the 7th and 8th grade teams lost every game this year I think.Congratulations to Coach Brock and his TEAM!
