Has anyone heard any statements, rumors, or conspiracy theories on seating or allowing fans at games? Schools and local media around here have been sharing sports schedules on social media but I have yet to see anyone address this aspect.

Is the 3 tier thing mshsaa put out the plan? If so most people I've talked to know nothing about it.

The MSHSAA plan did have a tiered system in their plan. Not sure if those were suggestions or mandates

Four Rivers Conference just put out guidelines for Fall Sports. Gyms/Fields will be limited to 50% capacity. Visiting teams limited to 250 vouchers for tickets for football/boys soccer, given to players before each game. Volleyball will have 75 vouchers for tickets for visiting teams, Softball, cross country and girls golf limited to immediate family only. Middle school girls basketball will get 50 vouchers for visiting teams. Home fans will get remaining seats up to the 50% capacity. Masks for fans are highly recommended, but not required at this point.

Reeds Spring released their restrictions Monday.. For Football: They are going to limit to 50 students (chosen by lottery), Every participant (players, cheer, band) will be allotted 4 tickets to give to whom they choose, and there will be 300 tickets given to the visiting team to distribute.

With each school in communication with their county health department, it will be interesting to see the differences in restrictions that are set up

Supposedly Carthage is renewing/selling their booster passes (reserved seating) as normal.

I can't imagine the scenes that will unfold if they severely limit attendance in Webb City. Masks and shutdowns are bad enough but take away their cardinal football and that will be the final straw.

I’ve already bought out all the torches and pitchforks in the entire area.

Webb fans should see me for your all your torch and pitchfork needs.

Act now and receive one (1) torch and one (1) pitchfork worthy of storming Frankenstein’s castle (or MSHSAA) for the low, low price of $350!
Ah. Taking a page out of the ole Bosko's Guide to Being an Efficient Booster Club president I see

Joplin is limiting attendance to "50% of capacity" for their "Jamboree" against Seneca tomorrow.
I'm assuming they will be doing the same for regular season games. The first game of the year (8 days from now), is against Webb City. I can guarantee that this game will be over the 50% capacity level. Better get there early.

Maybe because I live in St Louis I’m overly cautious, but I wouldn’t attended a high school game unless my son was playing. I’m blown away that there isn’t more caution. Feel free to call me a sissy.

North Andrew is allowing anyone to attend but it closing off the bleachers.

Sissy.

Sorry, couldn't resist. I think it's perfectly fine to live at whatever level you're comfortable with. Not that my opinion matters for anything, but that seems to be the prudent thing.

I’m all for doing whatever, however, remeber your choices could hurt someone close to you, so maybe Covid doesn’t bother me, but it kills my parents, and all because I went to a game or a bar is something I’m not going do.

I completely respect the personal choice. Just not where I'm at with my choice. Just seems crazy to me that those two choices can't both be right to some.

I think the leaders in each community, county, whatever just need to be aware of what's going on in their area and make reasonable decisions based off of that. Like Jomjam mentioned earlier, things have been much different in STL/KC than most of the Ozarks, especially the much more rural areas along Hwy 60 where I've got friends and family who work in the medical field.

As cautious about this stuff as I've been, I still would say the rules we need in the more densely populated cities shouldn't affect everyone until further notice.

I don’t Disagree , but my elderly parents live in a small rural town, and have seen an explosion of cases, fairly quickly. I think that attitude can bite you quickly and rural Americans need to be prepared to possibly wear a mask or not congregate. I do agree it’s less prevalent in the rural areas so I’m definitely bias being in StL county. Trust me I want football badly.

Mexico and the NCMC are restricting attendance to just 2-tickets per participant. NO general admission..... Hopefully our radio station will stream em live..
Weird times we are living in now...!
Most everything we had planned for the summer has been cancelled...
C =(~

Carthage attendance business as usual? Pretty sure going to make the trip over next Friday.

I know that this is probably going to come off as a bit selfish, but hear me out here; why are the places with limited attendance prioritizing families attending over actual fans of the game? Little Johnny is going to graduate in 4 years and his family is going to disappear right along with him. Let the actual fans who want to go to the games go to the game and mandate safety protocols like social distancing, wearing masks, no extra personnel on the field or track, et cetera. If you want to thin out the crowd, charge $25 admission and those who really want to watch the game will pay to watch the game. If you're going to limit admission to just immediate family though, you risk alienating your entire core fan base that brings money into the program each and every year. The fans won't forget this when a ballot issue comes up for stadium improvements.

Is Carthage limiting fans?

st Louis area only 4 family members and no students are allowed for the few teams that are still playing.

I would think a lot of people would pay a nominal fee for webcast access, enough to make it close to break even.
This makes sense, plus allowing immediate family only to attend live. I would pay what I normally pay to attend for the webcast.

I believe Chillicothe is limiting to players family. Family of band can come and watch them play halftime then leave. No student section, no casual fans. Good news is my listening audience may increase lol.

That's a reasonable assumption, Mr. Dean. Very reasonable. 🏈😇

It will be interesting to see people's opinions when the virus hits close to them

That's a clown question, bro.

I still haven't heard or seen anything from Carthage on this subject.

Joplin trying to limit to 50% capacity while hosting Webb City. OMG. I hope someone live streams the fans showing up and getting turned away by the thousands.

That’s sad. An area like Chillicothe with no students. It’s such a strange measure.

It sounds like Carthage is not limiting attendance, just using the district policy of asking everyone to wear a mask if social distancing is not possible (which let's be honest, few people will do).

The booster club put up a post asking everyone to follow this guideline and wear a mask if it's not possible to social distance at the game (it won't be) so the fans are the reason for the season getting canceled.

First game of the season, coming off a state championship, everyone desperate to get out, plus Carthage generally has a good crowd anyway so I expect the stadium will be packed.

I will never understand the push back on wearing a mask.

This has always made me laugh a little. Out of all of the things to be outraged over, the mask has really been a lightning rod. I don't get it. There is zero debate that it helps to an extent from somebody carrying the virus and spreading it. It's not full proof, nothing is. The arguments against them are pretty uneducated.

We've become a pretty selfish, lazy and downright disrespectful society. It's really disappointing honestly.

Anyway, just my two pennies.

I feel the same way about mask I will wear one when asked, and if I feel comfortable enough around some I won't. It entirely depends on each situation.
However I actually got into a discussion not an argument about mask with somebody who just says they don't work and he made some compelling points.
He said watch people going into a store and most will just pull a mask out of their pocket and slap it on, and when they come out after being in the store and touching all the products doors credit cards carts and things watch them take it off and slap the thing right back into their pocket. They might do that several times a day he said so do you think they are protected from all the things their hands picked up and transferred to that mask? It did make me stop and think because now I watch teachers and coaches whoever pull a mask out of their pockets....He said your keys are in there no telling what you are picking up.... But like he said before doctors will put on a mask they will scrub their hands for for a certain amount of time and people help them put all that stuff on. He said sure in some cases close contact mask could help others but you could also be making yourself sick if you don't do it right. But if people don't know how to properly clean their hands before removing or putting them on or how to properly store them, they could have a sense of being better protected wearing them while not realizing they are cross contaminating and setting themselves up for actually getting sick or covid. So think about it when you watch people at the games were mask are required, you will see them put one in a pocket while touching the railing and all sorts of other things. Can you imagine what could be on that mask by the end of the night? Just made me think about how I should handle my mask and health.

cool story.
If wearing a mask keeps it .000005 percent Safer and my friends kids get to play football I’m going to wear it, it’s takes 0 effort to put it on. It’s like wearing shoes or pants or a shirt, it’s not hard
