anyone watch One and Not Done?

I think there is no doubt he cares about his kids and wants what is best for them. I got a chance to read "Players First Coaching" by him. It echoed a lot of what was in the documentary. He really doesn't give a rip about what anybody has to say or think about his style. He wants kids to be able to be more comfortable (monetarily) than any of us could ever dream of.

Do I like it? Not necessarily. I want to see the college legends that are there for 3-4 years, just as I'm sure a lot of fans do. But I don't take the stance that he is some kind of crook like a lot of people do.

Wanna know the funny thing? He hates it too. But the dude is a master at taking advantage of the rules, no matter how silly they are.

He does hate it, but has changed with the times. Give the man all the credit. Hell, his NBA 1 and done kids attend more classes and make better grades than most kids. Personally, we can ask kids to go off to war when they are 18, but can not play professional basketball right out of HS? That is the crazy thing about this whole mess.

Totally agree.

I was never a huge Calipari fan but always liked his interviews when he tells it like it is. After watching “One and Not Done” I think I like the guy even more. Cal brings in wins and satisfies the fan base and gets the kids to where they want to be. Isn’t that the goal? One of the best scenes in the show is when all his players are in his basement and he has them all put in 2 dollars for a ticket. Then he describe how that’s a gamble but they are the lucky ones because they are their own ticket. The “GREAT” Jim Calhoun comes across as a bitter man. Can you fault Cal for telling a kid to go pro after one year if he feels he is ready? I love college basketball as much as the next person but the story Dajuan Wagner sums up why kids shouldn’t stay longer than they need to. If you were going to college to be an engineer and were only in the program for a year and someone offered you a job at the same salary as if you graduated with a degree what would you do?
