Anyone move to Class 5 and win it all the first year?

WC has a long way to go! Have to beat a solid PC team and then more than likely a very good Jackson team. Teams don't get to the semifinals by not being good! Best of luck to all the teams still playing!

Did Lee's Summit West play in Class 5 after they started their program or did they jump straight to Class 6 after 2 years in Class 4?

That’s a good question. I believe I recall them being in Class 5 for one of the 2 year cycles(back when we had 2 year cycles), but I could be wrong.

They were class 5 in 2011 when they lost to Staley in the semis. That was the 76-70 classic won by Staley in multiple overtimes. Staley went on to win state that year.

West won their first title in 2007, the year their first freshman class was seniors. It was in Class 4. Their second was in Class 5 in 2010, after moving up in 2008. The third in 2013 was also Class 5. They moved to Class 6 in 2016.

theres a better chance of that ever happening than anyone in the lower half of the old class 4 ever winning it. Go back and look at the old set up and notice the lack of representation deep in the playoffs of the lower 1/3-1/2 of that class. Congratulations to Platte County. Both them and Webb are in the class they should be in
