Any javelin fans in here?

In American that is 211' 11" which is quite a toss. It would be third in State Championship Meet history.
Isn't this the first time since 1936 that a javelin toss has marked over 200' at the state meet.
Seems to be an all-time state meet record.

my bad! with blackhawkpride posting I thought he was talking about discus. 211' 11" for javelin is the best ever in Missouri by quite a lot.

Right up there with Richardson back
in 86 AAU.

From Sports Illustrated
“JOHN RICHARDSON
MILLER, MO.
John, a junior at Miller High, broke the 15-16 age group national javelin record twice this summer with throws of 210' and 221'5" at the TAC and AAU Junior Olympics, respectively. He had never tossed a javelin until June of this year.”

Richardson is a great story.

I remember John Richardson. He won the discus, shot put, high jump, and long jump his senior year and almost won the team title by himself. MSHSSA didn’t have javelin at the time but he was a junior Olympic champ in that also,

It was. Richardson ended with a "HS" record of 230-9 in 1987.
He later went to Tennessee as a decathlete.

He just threw the Javelin at UT. 4 time All Conference, 3 time all American. Would have made Olympics if not for knee of back injury each qualifier. Witnessed the record setter at the JR Olympics but I was young and didn’t realize what type of athlete I was seeing at the time. Once he retired from the javelin the Braves wanted to still sign him to pitch. Freak athlete.

Veer is that your kid or a relation that throws for Adrian? He can flat throw it.

No relation but his dad and uncle were on the teams I played on. Good genetics and great work ethic.
