As another basketball season heads into the final weekend it has been a great year of bball (Haith and Tulsa are in the dance, what a joke, but that's another topic).

I enjoyed a few great girls games and have to admit the boys class 3 game was exciting and my oh my how athletic those kids are.

However, I have to ask now that we got to watch first hand do people really believe that private schools don't have an advantage? 3 of the 4 in class 3 were private with the typical public school having absolutely no way to compete with them on home grown talent unless it is that unreal group that comes through.

Class 4 will have only 1 private in the finals, but basically 2 after all Madison prep kids transferred to Vashon.

Class 5 will have 2 private schools in the finals as well.

For the record I have no dog in the fight, no kids that play basketball and I am just posting this as a question to see if people actually believe there is no advantage or disadvantage to one group or the other.

I still would love to see a private championship and a public championship where the winners face off all on one weekend class 1-5. I believe it would be an intense and exciting weekend of Missouri basketball and $ for those at MSHSAA.

The public - private debate normally surfaces about this time of year and was the MAIN topic of conversation on the floor of MizZou arena this weekend... As long as the small schools with no vested interest vote it down it will continue to be a thorn for many...
Many states experience this same problems.
