Where's everyone going this week?? I will be relaxing on the couch (sofa?) watching a game on the TV and a different one on my phone. Starting to get too chilly for this guy to go to a mediocre game so I'll wait for the playoffs/District games

Road game and I don't even have to leave the autumn beauty of Jasper Co as New Heights travels up 49 to take on the Jasper Eagles. This time honored contest has commonly been known as the "Battle for Baseline Road". I may have just made that up as this is only NHCA's third year of football, but the "Borderline Rivalry" was conjured up for Mizzou v Arkansaw, so humor me.
It's that time of season when a girl's thoughts turn to pumpkin spice lattes and the thoughts of some players turn to basketball and wrestling. We're in the home stretch and the contenders are looking at those district seedings and the possible bus rides created by folks at MSHSAA. Soak it up, this is the best time of year! Cheer hard, be safe.

Undecided at this point ... won't drive to Bolivar but I'm considering a number of options:
-- RepMo at Neosho
-- Carthage at Webb City
-- Columbus, Kan (5-1) at Frontenac (6-0)

Most of the Northeast Oklahoma games are tonight, so a decision will have to be made between now and 5 p.m. tomorrow

For atmosphere reasons alone, Carthage v Webb is tops on that list.

Friday night at Frontenac, time your arrival right and go to Barto’s for fried chicken and live polka music.

Who would have seen this five years ago... inter-county 8-man game in Jasper County? Beats fall baseball, which is a bizarre favorite for MoSports.

Speaking of Jasper, it appears they are just about to have an actual Double Deuce right off I-49. Of course, it’s also be a Sinclair Dinocare gas station, but the signs on the new building says Road House Double Deuce. Only took 30-some years after the movie came out, but it finally seems to be on the horizon. Just FYI.

I’ve been watching the progress of construction during the summer and fall, but I hadn’t seen the sign yet. All I have to say is, “Be nice until it’s time to not be nice”.

Is that horizon going to have mountains in the background just like the movie?

I saw the signs for the first time this morning, although I’m not in town regularly anymore. It appears that establishment and Loves may open nearly the same time.

I don’t know if Judy’s Truck Stop is still a thing or not, but if it is then this will probably be the death of it.

It’s still going, but no longer locally owned. They will need to pick up the pace, but they might still have a chance since they’re the only spot on the exit that still serves true diner food. Loves will have Subway and Dunkin. Judy’s has already added gas pumps to their service station to be ready to jump in to that new competition.

Going to watch the tv Bolivar vs Carl Junction tonight. Then West Plains Saturday @6 @Marshfield. These games will in my opinion shape the district standings.
