After Six Weeks...

Maybe you and those guys haven’t seen Jackson play. If you had, you would have seen a defense that has allowed only 39 points in 6 games while turbo-clocking 5 of their opponents, including Battle. Battle was ranked 7th at the time by those same voters and is still ”impressive” enough to stay at #9, in spite of 2 losses.
Battle just lost 29-0 to Rockhurst. Rockhurst is in the bottom half of KCMO Class 6.

But I agree that Battle is a Top 10 team in Class 5, but that really means nothing this season.

Who would you rank 10th in class 3 instead?
Yall might laugh but Buffalos only lost to Ava week 1 was without 2 starting players RB/LB & Saftey after that schedules not their fault put 40 on everyone by half. I do know that SR group was undefeated in Jr high Small COC champs both years an JR class only loss to Bolivar beating Reed Springs, Marshfield, Catholic those year an played for district championship last year. Getting BO in your district is rough but a solid group of SR an 1 of the top athletes in the state at QB at least deserve consideration.. well maybe not.

Buffalo has been on my radar all year. They have a relatively week schedule with the exception of a couple of teams. How they perform against Fair Grove this week will be very indicative of where they’re at. I personally believe buffalo will win by 14.
It’s just so hard to gauge them with their schedule. Hence why they weren’t in my rankings last week.

Buffalos are tasty. Scrumptious.

The fact that Battle was RANKED in the top 10 by so-called experts does not mean they were or are a top 10 team. However, Jackson embarrassed and “mercy-ruled” them, as they have 6 out of 7 opponents, and from what I saw of Battle I would not say they are in the top 10. If C-5 is weak this year, that doesn’t mean Jackson is weak and MaxPreps’/Calpreps’ computers agree, ranking them #5 in the state and #1 in C-5. They have kept on scoring “impressively” in spite of losing their top two running backs in week 2. They have no control over the rest of the class to which they are assigned.

Buffalo is pretty salty, but doubt their schedule is preparing them adequately for their district. Ava was tough, but their conference is not very strong. Fair Grove game will probably tell us a lot. Their QB is pretty special as an athlete and has some strong weapons.

I’ve seen Fair Grove this year, and haven’t seen buffalo but I can definitely say that Fair Grove and Ava both have relatively soft schedules with the exception of a few opponents just like buffalo but I would say that if buffalo can play Ava that tough, they’ve got a pretty good shot at handling Fair Grove by a few TDs. Don’t get me wrong, Fair Grove is pretty damn athletic. But if what I’ve heard from others holds true, buffalo will top them with physicality. And buffalo has athletes too. It will be a good game to watch that’s for sure.

I agree. I have not seen Fair Grove but have seen Buffalo. Great speed and decent size on the line. You could argue that after Ava, Buffalo's next hardest game was either El Dorado or Warsaw, both are 4-3. Fair Grove may even have a weaker schedule because the MLC seems down this year.

Warsaw beat ElDo last night 20-12 in a defensive battle I believe. Warsaw held the lead the whole night. 8-0 at the end of 1, 14-0 at half. But they were relatively evenly matched so I see your point.
Fair Grove had Butler, St Michaels, and Mountain Grove in non conference games so that doesn’t help. Grove is traditionally good, but being (0-7) this year, they definitely don’t add any strength to that non conference schedule. Part of the reason why Lamar has 2 losses and is still #1 in that district.

Anybody know what Summit Christen Academy has?

Everytime I see a score with that team they have blown out the Competition.

You sure Lamar is number one in the district? I could have swore FG passed them when Lamar had their second loss?

Lamar probably made the jump with the 20+ point win over Class 4 Mac County. That district maybe a little cloudy for the first time in a while, even though I would believe Lamar is still the best team in the district.

Saw that game. Warsaw owned the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Eldo threw two picks in the end zone and was penalty ridden. Lamar should be the best team in that district by a lot. Buffalo will have a tough time with Blair Oaks because of their strength of schedule.

8-man: Worth has yet to lose to a MO team and visits Pattonsburg this Friday.
C1: Catching on to Mid Buchanan. Beginning to believe this may be their chance.
C2: Maryville hosts Savannah next week. Lathrop will go unchallenged in the KCI. What will happen when those two hook up is anyone's guess.
C3: Odessa may be my most likely NWMO team to win it all.
C4: Ladue still a bit of an unknown but, yes, keep the champ #1 til knocked off.
C5: Jackson-Chaminade is now my title pick. Totally amazed nobody posted Chaminade's one-point loss to DeSmet (32-31).
C6: Perhaps more wide open than previously thought (see C5). Or could mean Chaminade is this year's Vianney.

Regarding Class 1, what's got you hyped about Mid Buch over the thayers and Lincolns, and Haytis of the world?

I've seen none of them play, but Mid Buch likely plays a tougher schedule than any of them.

Tougher schedule than Thayer and Hayti? Because they’ll lose to Lathrop and Lawson? I think there’s an argument there that could go either way. I was just wondering if they had the same type of weapons as these other schools. I hear more about these southern schools than Mid-Buch. Did they not graduate much?

Basically a senior that didn’t play much is all they lost, but I don’t know exactly how reliable that is

Yes. Better than Thayer and Hayti.
