After 7 Weeks (Small-School Edition)

Skyline has had really good teams in the past, I don't know if this year they are top tier of their district. Thayer is the best coming of out of the southern side of Missouri. If I was going to measure Class 1 in SOMO:
1. Thayer
2. Lincoln (I know they are more central but going by district)
3. Pierce City
4. Miller
I watched the Thayer vs. Ava game.I take pleasant hope over Thayer by 40

Being the resident Odessa poster on here, I really like Odessas chance this year. My only concern, they wont have faced many tests during the regular season. Harrisonville is looming but that's about it.
Ya the MRVC west is really down this year with 1 excellent team 4 middle of the pack teams and 1 bad team. Just not the gauntlet it used to be.

1A wide open, and most equitable, should be really fun bracket. I don't know much about what Thayer and Miller have but I've seen what mid Buchanan has and anyone who beats them this year is a good football team. Again, outside of Lathrop, they are stomping their schedule up here

I agree mid buch's quarterback is the best in 1a with weapons surrounding him. Dragons have a legit shot at a deep playoff run.

Got the opportunity to watch Lincoln play a couple times this year, and easy road or not, they are an extremely talented Class 1 football team and their quarterback would start for most schools in any class

Really? I have a conflicting argument for their running-back #3 being the main part of their offense, after watching a game or two. Quarterback is nothing compared to mid buch's imo.

#3 Is an absolute stud on defense. not overly scary on offense though. QB and #7 on offense are a scary combo.

Found these on maxpreps.

#10 Beaman has a QB rating of 126.1 with 26 TD and 4 INT
and averages 130 rushing yards per game
#3 Engles averages 53 rushing yards and 28 receiving yards per game
#7 Kroenke averages 124 receiving yards per game and has 12 receiving TDs

must've been the games i watched, I was able to watch the Lincoln Adrian game on citylink and was able to catch the tipton game in person. 3 played well both games, didn't stick out on defense

Ahhh yeah those are two games i havent been able to see. #3 has 93 tackles already it looks like.
I cant wait to see mid-buch play though thats for sure

Make the field goal at the end of the 2nd, merely tackle the punter on the 4th and forever when he muffed the snap are just 2 plays that would have made a huge difference, among others.

Or look at it the other way and that long pass play for Lamar was an answered prayer and........

It goes both ways, the outcome is what it is.

The MRVC used to have several schools classes 2 thru 4 be competitive every year. I really hope that doesnt hurt Odessa come playoffs. I also wish they would schedule some better non conference opponents

Yeah, I said they were not very good last year. And I'll stick by that. Yes, compared to the majority of other Class 2 schools, they were pretty good. Compared to a typical Class 2 semifinal team, they were not. It's all subjective. Sorry if it's not what you want to hear.

Solid is more so the teams play. Anyone would have been beat bad by Blair Oaks that year. It took everything Lathrop had to win that game. And Lamar made tons of mental errors. It really didn’t matter though who won, nobody was beating BO

I have to disagree with you. I’ve attend a few lincoln games and #3 didn’t really stand out to me. One of the games I attend he didn’t even start, a freshman did. I’m wondering if he is no longer the starter? Also I believe #10 is the best quarterback in the state at all levels. Looks to be the key of that offense imo

Have you been to a game? More than half of those points have come in garbage time when opponents' A's are against Lamar's younger, and often much smaller players. #howyoubuildaprogram

I think Monett put up 28 on them... Had it not been for a fumble and some miscues it might have been more.

Why is everyone so worked up over this game? It was a good game by two pretty evenly matched teams. Monett was better that night and made more plays when it counted.

LOL I am not worked up, I was just stirring the pot....Long conference calls can be boring.
