Re. Damned. Diculous. Only morons would allow to happen again what happened then. Would think, if nothing else, folks would've learned you don't control a virus. At this point, you treat like the flu and move on. If I were about 19-22 yrs old, I'd be so pissed at decision makers. Have done nothing but rob the best years of kids lives.

I had this back in June. Very mild. Pretty much a cold. Folks north of 80 did, too. Hate to go politics but couldn't possibly agree with you more!

That's the funny thing, there ain't a damned thing political about it. I hate Trump. I think he's a petulant child who couldn't lead a U5 flag football team. And I also think people that are canceling youth sporting events due to "covid" in September of 2023 are criminals.

We are all entitled to our opinions respect yours. I am on the other side but never worship any person. I just think plain ole common sense should rule the day not craziness.

I get that. My issue with leadership in this country in a nut shell...We have a walking corpse in the office and a former president who couldn't stop acting like a spoiled brat long enough to get re-elected (which, btw, I'd have preferred happen...I can't stand him, but he's the lesser of two evils)...like that's the best the freaking free world can come up with? Seriously?!?! And for all my "conservative" friends out there that enjoy the Trump Train motto, might I like to introduce you to 1980-1995ish Trump? The same dude that visited Hef and Guccione often. All of the binary stuff is going to ruin the last 200 yrs or so of building...100% agreed, the absence of common sense has become an epidemic.

Yikes we many want to go to Pol crap board (which I normally avoid) but your cynicism is shared by sooooooo many folks I know regardless which side of the aisle one is on. Agree the whole situation is a big mess and we are all paying the price.
 
Let me get this straight.

Class 3 Duchesne (0-2)(has been outscored 97 to 7 to start the season) forfeits to the #1 ranked team in Class 5 Cardinal Ritter (2-0) due to covid.

I am with @Veer2Eternity on this. I think it was more likely due to an outbreak of what would have been touchdowns scored by CR.

Luckily Cardinal Ritter was able to find a game or that would have been two weeks in a row of no games.

And maybe it was because of a lack of staff which can happen these days. Too much speculation that it is political which is on the wrong board.

Oh here we go with the conspiracy theories. This isn't like your high school, with an outbreak of inbred VD. This is just a simple case of too many players sick, and kind well-meaning people that want to wear masks and protect their fellow man from this hideous and deadly virus.

Lol. I stay away from that board. It's a big mess over there. Far too many folks that can only see one side of the fence, which is my main concern. Kinda aligns with that whole lack of common sense.

It does reek of "covid". I'd just be happy if someone called them out I suppose. Don't hide. That excuse should've died a couple years ago.
 
I may have missed something but can somebody point me to where covid is involved on something that is clear and not a conspiracy thread?
I saw they only had 24 players out to start the season. Too me it looks like the vast majority of this thread is nonsense about something made up.

People misunderstand the meaning of "forfeit". It only affects the team withdrawing from the competition with a loss. It doesn't give the other team a win, or any credit at all. If the contest was played prior to the forfeit, it would wipe out a loss.

So true. My skin crawls at the idea of having to dive back into all the debates about health and "safety" protocol, canceling things, mandated masking (unless eating lol), isolating for X number of days and whatnot until we can "get this back under control". The whole concept of "control" was the biggest lie of all the lies sold during that madness. It was as if people, mostly from the political left, put on blinders and could not see or comprehend any external factors or interests. I am fairly confident most places won't tolerate a return to that insanity even with a spike in cases.

Regarding this particular forfeit, if they legit have a bunch of kids out sick who can't play that's one thing, nothing wrong with that. If they have 2 sick kids and it's canceled due to potential exposure, "abundance of caution", that is the kind of stuff we need to be done with.

Duchense's 9-11 enrollment is down almost 25% since 2020. What is going on there?
