Nixa is as advertised for sure. They are massive and their qb is gonna be a thorn for the coc for awhile. Carthage is putting up a fight but outmatched big time.
Apparently Drink arrived via helicopter from Mizzou before the game started. Watching in the end zone.

Pass defense was my biggest concern because it looked suspect in their other games. When you have the size and speed nixa has penalties just give you a little extra challenge for the fun of it.
That 50yd td on 4th down with 4 seconds to go really stung. Would have been a solid accomplishment to go into half only 13-0. Carthage may not score unless Perry decides to take out the starters in garbage time.

Valiant effort by Carthage's defensive line...looks like they ran out of gas but they'll continue to dominate all the normal o lines. They'll be fine in class 5.

Yeah I’ll admit it nixa deserves this hype this year.
I talked to a guy from nixa at half, he said most of what makes this team so brutal will be back next year but he’s not sure they will be anywhere close to this level after that.
They might have if nixa had hired someone internal instead of a big name with a resume.
Nixa's other huge OL Hayden Mays got invited to the Mizzou game tomorrow as well. A lot of D1 talent out there
Republic isn't looking bad at all either. COC West could plausibly go to anyone save for Willard.
Unfortunately I think Nixa will remain a problem for the next few years, their QB threw a heck of a ball and he’s got plenty of athletes to throw it to. And he’s only a sophomore. This might be the best team they’ve had in awhile.
I think Carthage will be fine, think last night shows where they need to improve if they want to make a run in Class 5. Agree with the other messages, I think the west side of the COC is completely wide open, not sure we’ve got a good read on anyone after playing the east side. Nixa will steamroll through that side.

I think Nixas Soph class is solid. They come back to Earth after that group. I’d imagine once this group that is juniors graduate they’ll be back to being good, but nothing like they are now. No knock, just that they won’t be steamrolling all of SWMO.
You have to wonder with their current success are they going to get players moving into Nixa. Similar to what has happened to Webb for years.
I noticed the QB is a soph. He unloaded a pass that covered 60 yards in the air. A talent for sure! Three Jrs on the dominant Oline. Probably take the COC again next year.
Seems like everyone is moving to Christian county. Fun fact, it’s shaped like Oklahoma 😂
I remember seeing something in 2021ish that listed Christian County as maybe the third largest growing area (per capita, of course) in the US. Honestly, I could believe it. You couldn’t swing a dead cat in Nixa or Ozark back then without hitting a new housing development.

Yeah, the thing I remember seeing might have included Greene Co too. It was about the time Amazon opened and Republic started blowing up as well.
I think up until 2010 Christian country was number one in the state for ten years running.
I can believe that. I left in 99. Returned in 2020. In 20 yrs most everything south of Battlefield and north of 14 from 65 to 160 was pretty much unrecognizable.
People have been moving there for decades just not specially for football. Or border hopping for football like what happens at Webb. Nixa vball and basketball are well know also but the thing is ozark republic and Kickapoo are all also typically good at those sports.
I have close friends in Nixa and they have said a few times that the city is growing (which we all know) and bringing in talent from the surrounding area. I think Republic will follow the same route. Not sure on Ozark or Kickapoo. Depends on if the get a better HC for the football program.
Nixa will be the new Webb/Jeff City as long as Perry stays there.
On another note, I would not be the least surprised if Joplin high school splits in the next 5 years. The West 32nd area near Central City Road is growing fast. Looks like a new city on that side of town.
I could be wrong but I was told CJ school district ends where Central City and Junge intersect. I live on Central City but towards Belle Center.
Yeah most people are surprised that CJ goes all of the way out to 32nd St. I only knew because my daughter had classmates who live out there. Someone has to take part of Joplin or Joplin would be too big.
Joplin could split into 2 high schools and have them both join the OMC
Love the reaction to this. Carthage loses by 20 and scores only in garbage time....they are amazing. Will be great in class 5. Webb loses by 24 after leading 21-20 near halftime.....Webb sucks ass....and should fire everyone no matter all the injuries. The fact that Webb is hated this much allows me to take this season so much better. Thank you and enjoy it bc it wont last.
I mean yeah vs nixa Webb was 21-20 late in the first half. If only half games counted for something. Carthage was 14-14 for the second half of their nixa but more importantly didn’t get turbo clocked. And they didn’t lose to ozark.
