4 day school week gaining traction East Newton moves to it Aurora looking at it.

I said 5 was the LARGEST CLASS TO DATE. Your reading comprehension indicates a public education.

If you're graduating 1 to 5 kids a year there is NO reason they shouldn't have 100% college attendance.

Also, what colleges are they going to? Your 90% is less impressive if they're all going to community college or Ranken.

I wouldn't have a problem if teachers came in on the 5th day,,,,they could do prep work and grade papers and stuff and not have to take work home at night.
I'd bet teachers at schools that go to a 4 day schedule will be working many a Friday since a lot of them are working many a Saturday and/or Sunday now. With no extra pay I might add. They also have to work several nights a year for parent teacher conferences and various school functions that are done outside of regular school hours. They also work in their class rooms several days every year BEFORE school starts and again AFTER school is out, also with no extra pay.

As somebody who has lived with a Middle School/Elementary teacher for the last 8 years, had a mother that was the high school secretary/budget for the previous ten years, a mother-in-law that is about a year from retiring as a MS Teacher and myself going from a cut throat industry the last 10 years to teaching......This profession is no joke. I am here everyday from 6:45/7 to 4 every day. And I can attest that many teachers do considerably more. I will often be in here on Sunday mornings to get plans done/work in my classroom. Hardest job I have ever had.

But in the grand scheme, it's a very rewarding job. Love the interaction with the high school kids and seeing the progress they make throughout the year.

I graduated in 1978 at Miller, a place Cowherd has belittled repeatedly, 8 miles north of Cowherds esteemed high school, and calculus was offered then.
My sons tiny private school 15 miles from there offers calculus also. My sons graduating class was 5, largest graduating class to date.

So miller does that private school offer any extra school activates, such as speech and debate or any sports programs?

My son played basketball on the school team (played very competitively with small class 1 schools and won most games with other private teams). They offer many dual credit college courses. ANY students interests are accomodated if at all possible. Can't field a football team with those numbers for example but cooping is an option.

What colleges are they attending? Ranken or University of Phoenix?
