28-10 Smithville

Yes. They have been quarantined since just after FO game.
For how long? 14 days? That should be up................like I said why I didn't bother to do a HSFB contest. Every week something related to this is gonna happen. Then wait til the playoffs............a bigger mess in all likelihood.

Zillions of games turn on them. A truism in EVERY team sport.
Most of the time, it's just the better team pulling away... You don't spend all week on a gameplan only to change it all up in a matter of 3 minutes. Mainly because it's not possible. I'm not saying things aren't tweaked, but halftime adjustments are typically pickle juice, water, gatorade, and if it's real bad, pedialyte.

So sorry to blow my stack last Friday night everyone! Still, though, contend THIS was THE benchmark game of this (asterisk) 2020 season. NOW the Winnetonka game will be the one that determines if the regular season is over or under .500 (will easily beat Ray South, Ruskin and Grandview and lose just as easily to an OUTSTANDING Grain Valley and DeSoto KS who knocked off power Lawrence Free State). Tonka, by the way will enter that one 5 and O! Mark it down...........
They beat Tonka by 14
Never, ever heard that. Will look into it, though.
Coach G. And two assistants out for 10 days leading up to Smithville game.

No comment after calling for a guys job, when due to the pandemic, he couldn’t even do his job?
Yep. I never back away from one word I say. 100 percent accountability. AGAIN I want the program/coach to succeed. I just don't see it..............but maybe the coming weeks will prove me wrong. I WANT TO BE WRONG.

Kearney has the facilities, budget and support, that it's still an outstanding opportunity for an experienced head coach - there was no reason to experiment with an assistant who had never chosen to take the leap in 20 years or so of coaching. I question that if JG really had "IT" to be a HC, he would have stepped out a decade ago. There's a big difference in coordinating and being the face of the program.

8th grade A. 34-0 over Liberty
9th grade A 83-0 over Platte County

Whoever the coach is in a couple years will look like a genius.

Those are beyond encouraging. Will have to see how that translates a few years down the road. Do give a pair of concessions about the fellow Highway 92 schools: 2018 was THE year for Smithville and they did make the C4 semis (still scratching head about them losing to MICDS frankly) and THIS is, as advertised over and over and over again in 2019, Platte County's BIG year. A shame they don't play Grain Valley in 2020 (the Eagles moved up to the Sub White and WILL WIN IT).

I know lots of us questioned Utz back in the day (late 2000s in particular) but look at the program today. Ambroson is just flat an outstanding HC. Not sure how Smithville will keep him long term. He looks, to me, to be a great large school or COLLEGE coaching fit. Time will tell on Gray. Sorry to be so emotional at times BUT my passion for the local alma mater is as big as ever. Losing goes down like a bar of molten lead.

The only chance PC has is for Webb to be moved up to class5 or it will just be a repeat of last year

Platte County will have a shot at that game this year. Webb's D doesn't look very good. It would likely be a shootout. The Pirates are actually likely to move up to Class 5 as well. In that classification the question is JACKSON. Will they move to 6?

The D1 QB looks outstanding and they are scoring at will WITHOUT their top WR (Mitchell).

I think this is the truth. Or at least it is, were the game played today.

Platte County's finesse team would get rolled by Webb. They aren't even close as good to Smithville at run stopping. Webb would go up and down the field on them, run clock and win easily.

The way this season is going all of this is probably moot. Week by week not sure what the heck will happen...............

I don't doubt that Webb would score a ton, but Platte Co. might score a ton as well this time around if they're chucking deep balls with the efficiency that Republic was early on.

Playoffs may be down to who can keep the 'Rona at bay, if they even happen.
EXACTLY. Why I stated in another thread NO WAY was I gonna do Pick Em. It is a mess every week. And will continue to be. For who knows how long.

Platte County pretty much brought every key player back from last year. Never like to lose like that but the experience will prove very valuable as long as their season is not derailed by the you-know-what.

Ruskin and Kearney tied at 14. Eagles moving the ball at will....................they were blanked by ST. JOE CENTRAL and barely beat EAST. WOW.
