2016-2017 Head Coach openings

I see no way the Clemons moves over the OP. Cannot out recruit Staley being the biggest issue. Being familiar with the LN programs but cannot speak to the specifics that Perk mentioned about staff relations but the Admin at LN is extremely supportive of all coaches as long as they are doing things the right way. Dr. Jacobs and Mr. Kernell are top notch guys. Have never heard of any negatives associated with the football program that would lend it self to admin and Clemons being at odds.
Now to Top's point - make it a point of seeing Van Dyne play next year - he has all the looks of a big time player.

Same here. Why, instead of doing the rumor mill, cannot we just let either the school administration or the HC himself let everyone know if/when a change occurs? We are, after all, talking about someone's career............

Because it wasn't a rumor.

I heard the He got fired, but haven't seen one way or another for sure.

Interesting. Truman is a tough job and from what I read in his newspaper interviews he seemed frustrated at the buy-in he was getting from the kids as far as off-season work etc. Tough to win in C5 in KC. Really at any level in KC it's tough to win lol. At least two of the 3 ISD schools looking for new head coaches now.

Just read that he turned in his resignation, he wasn't fired. And yeah, I completely agree.

This is the 4th time Clemens has taken over a program that didn't win a game the previous season. Has to be some kind of record.

This is interesting? Texas College Money????
And moving up to the FCS. Taking over at Abilene Christian. Will be interesting to see who goes and who stays. Including at Maryville High. HC Matt Webb is a former FCS Defensive Coordinator, and assuming Northwest DC Rich Wright is next in line at Northwest, Webb might be a candidate to go with Dorrel. Could also be a candidate to get on at Northwest. It will be interesting for sure.

Northwest will elevate Rich Wright to HC more then likely. Then move some of the other staff around. I think they keep everyone else at Northwest. Just my opinion.

Normally I would agree, but I wouldn't be surprised to see someone like Osborne go with him. Possibly as OC. Possibly Flohr, although I doubt it. Another name I've heard is Josh Lamberson.

Another possibility is Ken Gordon reuniting with Dorrel. Was on staff at Northwest before leaving to be the DC at UNK with Lambo, but has resigned from there. Also, he's a great recruiter, and has Texas ties.

Another name to watch is Dane Wardenburg. Played OL (All-American I think) for Dorrel at NW, and is currently the OL coach at Iowa Western. possibility to go with Dorrel to ACU, or to be his replacement coaching the OL at Northwest.

I think Osborn stays and OC's at NW. Dorrel is the OC there now. People are saying Gordon may come back and DC for Wright. Meanwhile Lamberson isn't leaving UNK anytime soon. He's building something up there and I think he stays. But who knows. Find out soon enough

Flohr is the OC at NW and a candidate for footballscoop.com coordinator of the year, although Dorrel calls the plays. I don't see them relieving Flohr of his OC title..

That's a good point. But I think he could go to ACU with Dorrel. It'll be interesting to see how he recruits down there when he gets there.

Courious if Matt Webb goes back to D1 FCS with Northwest Dorrel (hs teammates at Maryville) if there ever been a missouri high school coach with a perfect regular season and conference record in his career?

The Centralia School Board selected 18-year assistant football coach Jim Newsted to replace retired head coach Erle Bennett in 2017.

Newsted first worked as Bennett’s quarterbacks coach for two years. The Newton, Kansas native then gained defensive coordinator and offensive line responsibilities for a decade before a switch to offensive coordinator for the last six seasons. Newsted helped Bennett and Centralia to a 2003 state championship and a second place finish in 2002.

The 18-year assistant played for Coffeyville Community College in Kansas and remained as an assistant for one year. Newsted next worked three years as a Baker University student assistant and five years as a Cass-Midway High School assistant prior to a move to Centralia.

Coach Newsted definitely deserves this.. no better person to take over
