honestly either both teams are average , or both are good and turnovers was the difference in the game. Carthage cleaned up the blocking. Carthage needs to stop throwing too the double/triple covered smith kid!!!!!!!!!!! Carthage does have other WR's to throw to! Clean up the turnover's and Stop trying to throw to smith every time!

To me the difference in the game was the huge amount of depth Webb has. Early on both offenses were running right over the defense and it was very hard for either team to get off the field ...Carthage plays lineman or at least a few of them both ways ...Webb doesnt ...the longer the game went on the more Webb started winning up front .

I was very impressed with Carthages offense in the first half but ..once they fell behind two scores in the second half they pretty well abandoned the run and threw a lot of picks . It was basically a carbon copy of the Webb - CJ game last week

Carthage coaches, regardless of their last name, always turn to the pass when they get two td's behind. You ever notice that? Regardless of how well their horses have performed. Sometimes its not about the Refs or Zombies.

When you fall behind a few scores and the other team is taking 8-15 plays every drive ...id do the same thing ...carthage could have kicked a fg to make it 21-10 early 4th qtr ..but that wouldn't have helped them BC its still 2 posession and you have a hard time stopping the opposing team. My question is did #7 for Webb get banged up at some point or were they just keeping him healthy with the lead? Seemed like he hardly played in the second half but Perez and gettings did a nice job

And Webb City's Derryberry (sp?) gets the game ball. Could not have been easy for him to be on the Webb staff coaching against his old team

Is it true Coach Roderique harvests the kidneys from the opposition's cheerleaders to fund zombie officials that he has total mind control over?

Naw. Just a heckuva coach with a heckuva staff with great kids and support.

The whole zombie ref thing is only a rumor.

(I need to get some sleep. Have a great weekend everybody!)

Stupid comment. Carthage ran 50 run plays & got called for 0 holding penalties. That is impossible in high school!

Sometimes I think there is a glitch with the sarcasm filter on this board.

I didn't make it to the game so I'm operating on second and third hand reports but it seems that the game unfollded similar to the CJ game in that Carthage matched WC early but the WC defense put the clamps on in the second half and the offense made enough plays to pull away.

Time will tell but early it sure appears that WC, CJ, Ozark and probably Carthage have some separation from the rest of the league. Carthage may be 0-2 but I can see them cruising to 6-3 or possible 7-2 come district time.

On a side note all must be right in football land when Webbies post more about uniforms bei
Good to see you RHCF.
Yeah. You may have a point. I need to ease off the twisted, satirical humor.
ab122 / 366 / notserp / manokin may blow his cerebral cortex if he reads them while trying to decipher how Maguire can hit a grand slam as he plays defense.
i am just glad RHCF didn't inspire someone to sack Carthage new press box,,,plow under the field and salt the grounds.

There is still time!

I do think that Carthage made a tactical mistake in the game last night when they did not empty war elephants. Put 1-2 war elephants out there and it is probably a toss up game.

That's about what I thought. Carthage overall seems a little short of the expectations I was hearing, particularly with QB and passing, but I think they have potential as the season progresses. They started their season with two really, really, tough games, so they get somewhat of a break in the schedule now, though early indications are that Branson is much improved.

Carthage defense did a good job at giving the offense opportunities, but they couldn't overcome. In my opinion the star of the show was the Webb City defense.

I think WC/Ozark could be an interesting game, but the dynamics of Carthage Ozark and Carthage WC were not the same. Carthage arguably could/should have beat Ozark, but even if you remove the turnovers, I still think Webb City had this one, just by a smaller margin. So I think at this point it's a very long shot that WC doesn't get their annual COC trophy.

Flanders: But did you have to salt the earth so nothing could ever grow there again?
Homer: (hehehe) yeah...
