The Role of Runs Earned in Baseball: A Question Worth Discussing

Hey everyone,

I've been pondering the significance of runs earned in baseball lately, and I'd love to hear your thoughts.

We all know they're crucial for winning games, but how much weight should they carry in evaluating players or teams?

Are there other stats that overshadow the importance of runs earned?

And what about the quality of runs – does scoring early versus late in a game make a difference?

Latest CNN Poll has Trump up 49% to 43% Biden

CNN —
Donald Trump continues to hold an advantage over President Joe Biden as the campaign – and the former president’s criminal trial – move forward, according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS. And in the coming rematch, opinions about the first term of each man vying for a second four years in the White House now appear to work in Trump’s favor, with most Americans saying that, looking back, Trump’s term as president was a success, while a broad majority says Biden’s has so far been a failure.

Trump’s support in the poll among registered voters holds steady at 49% in a head-to-head matchup against Biden, the same as in CNN’s last national poll on the race in January, while Biden’s stands at 43%, not significantly different from January’s 45%.

Dan Rather interviewed by CBS 18 years after resigning in Disgrace

At least back then when Left Wing Liberal news anchors got caught falsifying documents and reporting lies about the president they had the gumption to resign their position and walk away from the news business.

Hell if they did that today CNN, MSNBC, CBS,NCB, ABC, would all have to shut down their transmitters

I was doing some reading on Hitler today after watching a long series of shows about him on prime video.

Back in the day, the U.S. Dept of Strategic Services analyzed Hitlers manipulation of the German people and came up with a psych profile of him. His primary rules were:

1. Never allow the public to cool off
2. Never admit a fault or wrong
3. Never concede that there may be some good in your opponent/enemy
4. Never leave room for alternatives
5. Never accept blame
6. Concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything
7. People will believe a big lie sooner than a little one. And if you keep repeating it enough people will soon believe it.
8. Parroting the lie becomes like a loyalty pledge.

Gee I don’t know why anyone would mention Trump and Hitler in the same conversation………….

Here is an example of why Lebron is not a leader..

"We've been -- me and this guy [Davis] have been playing together for six years," James continued. "We've been to the mountaintop. We've been close to the mountaintop. We've played a lot of games. We know what it takes to win. We know what it takes to win a championship and how damn near perfect you got to be. That's not like something that's so crazy to obtain."
He is more less saying, we done our part the rest of the team is to blame for us not winning. Lead them on the court, not throw them under the bus in the press afterwards.

The U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments today in a case centered on the question, can the federal government require states with strict abortion bans to allow physicians to perform abortions in emergency situations, specifically when the woman’s health, but not her life, is in danger?

The 1986 federal Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA), signed into law by Republican President Ronald Reagan, says it can. The State of Idaho on Wednesday argued it cannot.

“In Idaho, doctors have to shut their eyes to everything except death,” Prelogar said, according to Bellware. “Whereas under EMTALA, you’re supposed to be thinking about things like, ‘Is she about to lose her fertility? Is her uterus going to become incredibly scarred because of the bleeding? Is she about to undergo the possibility of kidney failure?’ ”

In the short time this law has been intact in the sparsely populated Idaho, 6 ladies have been forced to be airlifted out of state to receive treatment in this situation.

Justice Alito “is basically making it clear he doesn’t care if pregnant women live or die as long as the fetus lives.”

Earlier Wednesday morning Segall had issued a warning: “Trigger alert: In about 20 minutes several of the conservative justices are going to show very clearly that that they care much more about fetuses than women suffering major pregnancy complications which is their way of owning the libs. Grotesque.
