Looking at the 247 player rankings, you'd think St. Louis wins all the Championships.

Funny, all these good players but 75% of the titles are won by teams from the West side of the state. Good marketing and promotion of players there... Out of the top 56 players rated, 38 from St. Louis? I call Bull Sh...!

PS
My point on this post: These ratings are overly St. Louis-centric for some reason, and don't jive with reality.

Let's take the 25 best 100m athletes in Missouri. Raw speed. Out of the top 25 this year:

9 are from KC
7 St. Louis
5 SW Missouri
3 Columbia
1 Northeast Missouri

Obviously, physical talent is all over the state. And St. Louis is # 2 in speed next to KC...just the facts. Funny, the 100m numbers match up pretty well with the % of football championships won by the Western part of the state. Hmmm? So are recruiting agencies missing the boat on the Western talent? Trip

We left Concordia at 6:00 and have seen 15 fields. All the Ft Zumwalt fields look the same and were locked up. Timberland is the best so far and they did not spend as much money on Liberty in Wentzville. St Charles field is different with the track going out the stands. Is that a regulation track? Heading to Francis Howell North and then Central.

Hey Orabidone...

Since you're so concerned with where people are from:

Georgia Offensive Coordinator - Jim Chaney - Holden, Mo - University of Central Missouri

Georgia Offensive Line Coach - Sam Pittman - former head coach Princeton, Mo and Trenton, Mo

Georgia Outside Linebackers coach - Dan Lanning - Richmond, Mo - William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo.

Just saying

Which conference in Missouri has the best facilities ?

This could be a good question for the guy that travels Missouri and reports on stadiums .

I'll speak of the one I have knowledge of : the COC large

Republic : Brand new stadium . Field turf ...haven't seen it in person but looks awesome

Carthage: 1 year old facility. Field Turf . Beautiful

Joplin : Tons of seating . Field Turf . Made upgrades a few years back . Very nice

Carl Junction: Field turf . Made upgrades a few years back .... extremely cool atmosphere

Webb City : New turf last year . Back drop with the dome is hard to beat . Tons of seating

Ozark: Field Turf ....super nice facility

Nixa : Field Turf. ..not as nice as Ozark but very nice

Branson : Field turf . Great home side seating ...amazing place ....their old field (I think the Jr high uses it now) was the nicest grass field I've ever seen

Neosho: Grass field . Tons of seating and a cool atmosphere being down in a valley

Willard: cow pasture but has funnel cakes

MSNBC the place for Opinion Pieces, not News.

MSNBC president Phil Griffin generated plenty of media attention this week when he said, in a New York Times interview, that his channel was “not the place” for breaking news. “Our brand is not that.”

Griffin was responding to a significant decline in MSNBC’s ratings, which the Times reported was down 18% in prime time in the second quarter of 2013 compared with the same period in 2012. In May 2013, MSNBC—which often has the second highest cable news ratings behind the Fox News Channel—fell to fourth place, trailing even HLN, which was once known as CNN Headline News.

One theory for its current ratings woes is that the recent spate of big breaking news events— such as the Boston Marathon bombing, the Oklahoma tornados and the Jodi Arias trial—does not play to the strengths of a channel better known for opinion than newsgathering. The channel’s marketing slogan, “The Place for Politics,” fits with its prime-time lineup heavy on liberal-leaning commentary.

A Pew Research analysis of news contenton the three major cable channels conducted late last year found that the highly competitive world of cable news is a mix of reporting and opinion, with a good deal of the latter, particularly in prime time. But the analysis of 108 hours of cable programming over three days in November and December 2012 showed that MSNBC was an outlier compared with its rivals.

6-5-2013-12-03-43-PM.png

In the Pew Research sample, two of the three major cable news channels had a fairly even distribution of airtime devoted to opinion and to newsgathering. CNN was the only one to feature more reporting (54%) than opinion (46%) overall. At the Fox News Channel, the split leaned toward moderately more opinion (55%) than reporting (45%).

On MSNBC, however, the mix of news and commentary skewed heavily in one direction. Fully 85% of the channel’s airtime in the period studied was devoted to opinion. Only 15% of its programming was filled with reporting. And the time of day really didn’t matter. The percentage of MSNBC airtime devoted to opinion was more than 80% in the morning (6-10 a.m.), mid-day (12-3 p.m.) and evening (6-10 p.m.)

The Pew Research analysis offers a snapshot of cable content, but the reporting/opinion gap between MSNBC and its two top competitors is striking. And the numbers buttress Griffin’s acknowledgement that covering breaking news is not his channel’s sweet spot.

Due to you Show Me boys propensity to fly with your heads up your ass!

I'll leave you with one parting factoid that you may find useful down the road! SEEMS that, according to the national pundits, that the QB for Trinity Catholic is rated on their board, as the #3 athlete in the COUNTRY! So FAREWELL, and try to find someone to play that don't scare the shit out of you! And tell that dumb asss DT for MIZZOU, who said that UGA wasn't much!!! That they just play OLD MAN FOOTBALL! Todd Gurley took REAL offense as he ran that FAT ASS OVER, ALL NIGHT LONG!

ANYWHO, back to your pussy partees, and cute lil memes!***ROTFLMAO***

Is recruiting an issue in Mizzou?

I just finished perusing the top 247 players in Georgia! And ten of the top 100, are playing for the Grayson Rams next season! And we already knew that another ten of the top tier players would be playing for Marietta High! NOW, keep in mind, that both of those PUBLIC schools are in metro areas, but have districts of only four square miles! Creative player acquisition anyone?

This hasn't been an issue in Georgia until recently, because we supposedly don't have open enrollment! But since 2016, when Grayson bought them a 7A championship, it was only a problem in smaller schools such as Buford, Rome, and Calhoun! My question is, is it a problem in the public schools in Mizzou? The trend seems to be perpetuating the end of high school football as it was just twenty years ago, and THAT'S a shame! High school athletics in general, and football in particular, was the ONLY PURE form of sport that we had!

Freshman Football Coach - Rockwood Summit

We are looking to add a freshman football coach for the upcoming season. Preferably with a defense background. There is an ISS position available at the school, however, the two are completely separate.

ISS Position will pay ~ $22/hour (7 hours/day). Must be certified to teach in MO.
(LINK to Job Opening)

Would prefer the coach gets the ISS job but not a necessarily a prerequisite as I would list the coach as a volunteer for the district and pay a stipend thru our boosters. ("Volunteer" coaches still need to pass a background check thru the district to be able to coach).

Email me at StewartEric@rsdmo.org if you have interest or questions.

In state draftees to the NFL ....

I am going to try this, and hope the thread dont get ruined. If it does I guess I'll just delete it.

I am curious to see how many kids from Missouri High Schools were either drafted or unsigned free agents.

From the SCA

Jaelon Acklin of Mtn. View Liberty to the Baltimore Ravens, unsigned free agent. His phone rang the minute the draft ended
