16) Quincy Byas, De Smet, EDGE, 6'2" - 230 lbs, 3 star recruit committed to Eastern Michigan
17) Chase Pearsall, LSN, LB, 6'1" - 210 lbs, 3 star recruit still deciding between Illinois, Mizzou, UNLV, Kansas State, Kansas, and Nebraska
18) Brady Davidson, Rock Bridge, QB, 6'5" - 200 lbs, 3 star recruit committed to Northern Illinois

21) Dakarri Hollis, Parkway North, QB, 6'2" - 180 lbs, 2 star recruit with an offer from Miami of Ohio

For the 2025 class, obviously a lot of players from Cardinal Ritter. Not a complete shocker, but it does show how imbalanced the amount of talent is. Private schools have 14 of the top 21 players still left in the playoffs, so 66% even though they only represent 7 of the 48 of the schools (14%).

2026 Class
1) Jackson Cantwell, Nixa, OT, 6'7.5" - 300 lbs, 5 star recruit with offers from everywhere but he is currently undecided with no schools labeled ahead of the others.

Dexter at Lift for Life

Lift for Life gave Helias all they could handle and blew out Borgia. When Lift for Life faced John Burroughs it was a defensive struggle. Dexter which is known for their ground game along with their passing defense. On paper it looks like Dexter should get blown just like Borgia did but the film of the lift for life / John Burroughs game gives me the thoughts of 2 different teams where Lift for Life barely escapes JB.

If lift for Life plays like that against Dexter I can see the door being open to pull off the win and move on to Seneca for Dexter. On the otherhand if LFL plays how they played against Helias and Borgia it could just be a blow out.

Each Classes game of the week?

C6 I got
Nixa @ LSN with LSN winning and ill be there in person

C5 I got
Helias @ Republic with Republic winning

C4 I got
Warrenton @ West Plains with Warrenton winning in a much closer game than is being predicted

C3 I got
Maryville @ Odessa with Odessa stunning Maryville

C2 I got
Fair Grove @ Lafayette County with LC winning

C1 I got
Adrian @ Marionville with Adrian winning a tight one

Let me know if you think anything different game wise or outcome.

Current Maxpreps Rankings (Who is eliminated)

With the current rankings I will hold the teams that are still alive and in the playoffs. Let's see which classes have the most/least amount of top ten teams left.

Class 1
1) St. Vincent
2) Adrian
3) Marionville
4) Tipton
5) Pierce City
6) Penney
7) Ash Grove
8) West Platte
9) Windsor
10) Van-Far

3 Teams not in the top ten are left: Crystal City (21), Harrisburg (11), and North Platte (13)

Class 2
1) Fair Grove
2) Lafayette County
3) Valle Catholic
4) Lamar
5) Pembroke Hill
6) Mid-Buchanan
7) Warsaw
8) Bowling Green
9) Caruthersville
10) South Shelby

All 8 teams left are in the top ten so this class is pretty much chalk. The top 2 teams play each other in the Quarterfinals which always sucks. Although, you can definitely make the argument those are not the top two teams in the state.

Class 3
1) Seneca
2) Blair Oaks
3) Lift for Life
4) Mt Vernon
5) Maryville
6) Odessa
7) Dexter
8) Borgia
9) Strafford
10) John Burroughs

Only 1 team left is not ranked in the top ten: Hallsville (26) - Honestly one of the weaker District Champions I've seen in awhile. Good for them to be able to take care of business and beat the teams they have on their schedule. In the end that's all you can do.

Class 4
1) Lutheran North
2) Kearney
3) Warrenton
4) Festus
5) Warrensburg
6) Parkway North
7) Pleasant Hill
8) Savannah
9) Hannibal
10) Osage

2 teams left are not in the top ten: West Plains (13) and Gateway (23) - Poor Gateway is gonna learn this week....

Class 5
1) Cardinal Ritter
2) Platte County
3) Helias
4) Lafayette (Wildwood)
5) Carthage
6) Republic
7) St. Pius X
8) Eureka
9) MICDS
10) Webb City

Only 1 team left that is not in the top ten: Ft. Zumwalt West (17). I think it is interesting that Webb whooped the number 5 team and is number 10. I know their record is what is bringing them down but their recent performances have shown they are capable of beating just about anyone.

Class 6
1) Lee's Summit North
2) Nixa
3) Lee's Summit
4) Liberty
5) Blue Springs South
6) Liberty North
7) CBC
8) Kirkwood
9) Park Hill
10) De Smet

2 teams left are not in the top ten: Rock Bridge (11) and Jackson (14). The top two teams also play in the Quarterfinals for this class. Hate it when that happens but this class is so wide open it seems that the rankings are almost impossible to make accurate.

C5 Week 4 Playoff Predictions by cal preps

PREVIOUS WEEKS PREDICTIONS IN ()

Quarters
Cardinal Ritter 38 Lafayette 17 (was 38-14)
Helias 24 Republic 28 (was Helias 28 Branson 27)
MICDS 34 FZW 19 (was 34-17)
Webb City 26 Platte County 31 (was Carthage 31 St Pius 28)

Semis
Ritter 35 Republic 21 {23 state champ rematch} (was Ritter 34 Helias 17)
MICDS 24 Platte County 34 (was Carthage 28 MICDS 19)

Final
Cardinal Ritter 35 Platte County 22 (was Ritter 31 Carthage 20)

Each week ive tried to do something new, this week ill include what and why i think cal preps is wrong
You have seen me disagree with calpreps repeatedly but never elaborate on it, however you see the team changes here and can even track score disparity if you wanted.

CR vs Lafayette is probably spot on
Helias vs Republic is eye opening for some and comes from repub beating a Branson team that was given too much credit. don't get me wrong I think Cal Preps is close on this one just don't agree with how they got there. Repub was better than Branson from Day 1.
MICDS vs FZW having not seen either play i would lean towards FZW making it closer than 25 points most likely 14 or less but then again this is my least confident game
Webb vs PC Webb is getting too much credit for beating a Carthage team that was missing a huge playmaker and made 1000 mistakes. PC hasnt scored less than 40 since week 3 and that dont change this week PC by 21+

Ritter vs Republic is much closer this year 7 or less but CR still wins
MICDS vs PC is another 20 pt win by PC

Ritter vs PC this may be the game where PC doesn't score 40 or the game where they score 60 depends on how PC defense does but PC still wins. If CR can keep their heads its a close game if they start self destructing it gets ugly.

call me wrong, call me crazy, call me whatever you want just dont call @BoosterBosko late to dinner cuz that mfer sleeps at the table

Pirates Falter and Two Privates Falls!!!

Loved the pirate take, but unfortunately the only Pirate standing still is Platte Co.!!! As far as privates, CBC and John Burroughs eliminated. If I sub in DeSmet in Class 6 and Lift for LIfe (Open Enrollment Charter School), the new Private Sweep looks like this:

Class 6 DeSmet
Class 5 Cardinal Ritter
Class 4 Lutheran North
Class 3 Lift for Life
Class 2 Valle
Class 1 St. Vincent

Really looking forward to this weekend but I hope we get to see the Cardinal Ritter v Platte Co in Class 5 (Finals) and Kearney v Lutheran N in Class 4 (Semi) in the future. Both of those games would be must purchase and watch!!!
