All Good Things Must Come To An End

It is with a heavy heart but a sound mind, that I share this news with you all today. But I wanted you all to hear it from me first before the word gets out. I chose not to seek reelection as president of the Ampipe Booster Club and will be retiring. My last day in office will be December 31st, 2021.

This decision was a difficult one but after 39 years, it's time to hand over the keys to the castle. The Ampipe Booster Club has grown exponentially under my leadership and has never had more funding in its entire history. I leave the club with full coffers, total community confidence, and students that get to class on time!

My biggest regret will always be running Coach Nickerson out of town and that fateful night back in 1983. Thankfully, Coach Nickerson and I were able to reconnect via MoSports and bury the hatchet. I look forward to spending MORE time with MY WIFE! YES, I am still HAPPILY married!! In addition, I will now get to be on MoSports EVEN MORE! Which means MORE TIME reliving the ole glorys, giving out sage advice, and contributing to threads!

In closing, I’ve enjoyed these last 39 years and wouldn't trade it for anything. Now DON'T cross me!!

Which HS Championship Environment is better: Dome or Mizzou

Better Football Atmosphere

Now that we have had a few years in, which environment does everyone seem to like more? Could/Should Arrowhead ever be considered an option? Could a smaller stadium like Missouri Western or Southern on different days be better for packing the stadium for a better feel? I for one don't like having State at a giant stadium in which fans only fill less than 5% of capacity.

Why wasn't the Jackson QB who they won the state title with recruited by anybody?

Cael Welker. This has been a baffling mystery to me Tollison their OT went to Mizzou, McDowell and Norman went to SEMO, and I think they had a couple more from that class get recruited but Welker seems like he was almost criminally overlooked. Did he even have offers? Was he one of those kids that had no aspirations to play football after high school maybe?

Lair flips commit from SIU to Missouri State

Connor Lair is staying home. That’s always a nice feeling.

6’1 225 lbs and running a 4.5-4.6 40 yd dash

Ended up with 90 tackle, 21.5 for loss and 10.5 sacks and 4 INTs as a LB for West Plains in 12 games this year. Most teams tried to not run the ball AT him.
most of which he sat on the sidelines for part and sometimes all of the 2nd half.

Offensively he was used less than expected this year but still had 83 carries for 720 yards(8-9 yards per carry) and 22 receptions for 539 yards(24-25? Yards per reception) and 27 total TDs.

This is a big get for Missouri State by snatching up one of the better local recruits.

Was a 4 year starter for WP on defense and a 3 year starter on offense.

his soph year, he broke his foot in the first half against Lebanon and played the entire 2nd half, scoring two TDs in that half including the go ahead TD in a 36-35 come from behind win @ Lebanon

Get rid of conferences..

Would really love to see the state do away with Conferences in Football. Go with 8 team districts. You play everyone in your district and get to schedule 3 additional games. Top 4 make the playoffs and then you cross bracket for playoff matchups. You dont have as many automatic rematches and you have a much better chance and getting the best teams playing each other later in the playoffs.

We should all be mad at....

MSHSAA for there terrible monetization practices... the streams this season were unacceptable and I encourage you to contact them through any of these avenues to let them know

Most intense crowds at high school games?

You can't always go by size, but one that was impressive was Seneca in Fall 1987. They were on the 2A state title run.
Drove there from Springfield with some friends. Playoff game vs. Springfield Catholic. Knew that SMSU was
at least looking at this cat named Shannon Crouch.
Drove into town...place was shut down. Nothing there. Got to the Friday night lights, pulled in, and the home
side was a true sea of red. And the first time I ever saw the Tomahawk chop... Dayum. The fans looked like a red machine.

Best part. Kick off. Shannon Crouch for the touchdown. Why in the hell do you kick off to him? Seneca proceeded to dish out an ass kicking.

Friday in Columbia

I have not been to the Mizzou stadium for a few years, probably since Pinkel was still the boss.

Recommendation on where to sit as a neutral party. (Ok I will be biased for public and SwMo but otherwise neutral)

So, should we sit on the East or West side?
North or South end of East/West side?

How is the food?
Good/Average/Bad?
Expensive or Not too bad?

Thank you in advance.

Thanks to the teams

Players and coaches that made this weekend fun to watch and follow. And thanks to those who made posts and updates on games. I watched most or all of Smithville over MICDS, Holt over Ft. O, and CBC over LN. Great entertainment and competition. And there seems to have been some real barnburners around the state between good football teams. Good luck to those advancing, look forward to next weekend.
No thanks to MSHSAA, who is abusing the system and the fans on these online games, and should be refunding some jack. To pay $10 to watch an amateur feed and then not not even be able to finish the mother****ing game? Whatever businesses practice that is, I want in on. Every year that goes by, their disregard for the fan experience in favor of the bottom line is embarrassing, both at games and with this online scam they got going. They're capable of better, and need to be told so by their member school bosses.

Class 3--take St. Mary's out of the mix--Who wins??

So it looks like a foregone conclusion that St. Mary's will win Class 3 pretty easily. So here is my question. If you were able to take St. Mary's out of the equation, who would win Class 3? For argument's sake, and so we have 8 teams, we are going to put Valle Catholic back in the mix. Here is who we have left to choose from in this hypothetical made up situation: Park Hills Central, Valle Catholic, Cardinal Ritter, Owensville, Mexico, Seneca, Pleasant Hill, St. Pius X (KC). Go ahead and reseed it (if you want) and predict how it would play out. Using seeds from last weeks Max Preps, here is how they would seed it. I personally think this would be pretty competitive and fun. Who wins?? I don't know much about the West Side teams so I don't feel qualified to make a prediction.
1. Valle Catholic
2. St. Pius X (KC)
3. Park Hills Central
4. Cardinal Ritter
5. Seneca
6. Mexico
7. Pleasant Hill
8. Owensville

Lamar might lose.

Lamar vs Lutheran

Just don’t see Lamar winning unless if they change some things up.

Lutheran is big up front, fast and athletic. I will say there’s no way the Qb power or rushing Beshore up the middle will work. Lol

The coaching and play will have to improve from the past few weeks.

I believe they can, just looks tough from what Ive watched the past few weeks.
