Diesel running out...... .. 25 days worth!

Biden has made a agreement to Double our Exports to Europe....Double From the increase Biden Made in March. That is insane!!

And the Russian Rubble is even Stronger than it's been in years..... Putin needs to go, but this Ukraine War is only making him stronger and more powerful. His Alliance with SA has formed a Oil Block. While the Russian Economy is slowing, it could well rebound.

The Ukraine war has hit Europe and the U.S. harder than it has it Russia.

I did have to giggle at the WEO propaganda report. How this Ukraine/Russian Crisis is a good thing as it will hasten our transition to a more sustainable and secure energy system. What that more Sustainable energy is or the more secure system well DON'T know. Cause it ain't been invented or developed yet. They total lie that Climate Policies have had no effect on the increase in energy world wide. Oh those Frenchies they do bury their heads in the sand and live in a World of Make believe...

Of course Biden's Crew has no Plan at all to deal with the Supply of Diesel being so low.....none even a clue. They got Duped by SA as they pulled the Ole Chair out from under the Whole Administrations arses.

COC District Games

Anyone have thoughts on any of the COC teams still remaining? How does the potential of rain and wind affect any of these?

CJ at Center - Never really know what to expect with these out of area seeding match ups. Just took a quick glance and Centers schedule and while I don't know much about any of those teams it appears to be nowhere near the level of difficulty CJ has played.

Willard at Carthage - Maybe Willard has finally found some things that work but I still don't see more than a shred if even that of hope for them. Someone also mentioned to me that they are without one of their key players due to injury. Things would have to go disastrously bad for Carthage.

Republic at Webb City - This may be one of the toughest paths to a district champ WC has faced in quite some time with Republic and then most likely Carthage. The first match between these two wasn't close but I do believe Republic has improved more than Webb City has during that time.

RayPec at Nixa - I think Nixa could be a vulnerable 1 seed here. Personally I thought Joplin had a very real shot to get past them IF they were to get past RP which they didn't. Nixa impressed me a ton early in the season but the last few weeks don't seem to have that same spark.

MoSports.com

Out of curiosity went over there today. Last post was over 2 months ago. Kinda sad. Bill and I didn't really see eye to eye but you can't deny he put his heart and soul into his work here. I sure do miss the database he developed going back to the 2002 season. Used it many times for deep dive projects like when the district points system was in the planning stages.

One plus imo is no moderation here. Saying that, it's encouraging the site has maintained a level of civility in its absence.

I was sure with On3 starting up Rivals wouldn't last long. It still might fold as they continue to snag big sites out from under Rivals, but that pace has slowed down considerably and Rivals has been quick to replace them as best they can. As one who took advantage of On3's initial one year cheap offer I can say they aren't up to Rivals level as far as message boards are concerned. Content creation is another story however in both recruiting and general college football information. Rivals has had to lay off a ton of their National staff with far less revenue coming in. They are lucky that there's a core group of people who have connected and refuse to leave in spite of having to pay $10/month for the privilege.

Anyway, it's good to be back and good to see some familiar posters still doing their thing. I missed it.

Wise Guys, rules...

1. No association with Doc Guy known as Bosko. The only reason we don't send him away is for clownish entertainment value.
2. NEVER talk bad about the fine Catholic high schools that play fair and honest, and DO NOT recruit. That is a myth perpetrated by jealous rednecks.
3. Never talk about your associations in the life.
4. Donate to your locate Catholic High Schools, when you have the money to do it.

Tarkio(East Atchison)

Just wanted to give athletics in general a shout-out on here.

Girls just won state golf team title and it wasn’t even close for the team title.
also had the individual state champion in golf as well as 3 of the top 10 finishers and 4 of the top 18.

Volleyball is heading to Columbia for the final 4 this weekend

Boys and Girls XC are both headed to state

The football team is 8-1 heading into this Fridays district matchup.

not a bad showing this fall.

Shutouts

From stltoday 2022

22 shutouts: Tigers (66-96 record)
17 shutouts: Cardinals (93-69)
16 shutouts: Royals (65-97)
15 shutouts: Pirates (62-100)
15 shutouts: Diamondbacks (74-88)

Figuring out how and why a lineup that included two potential top-two National League MVP finishers (Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt) got blanked so often seems significant.

Schwarber and Harper

Left handed power bats. Wow. Cards could have signed Schwarber to DH. Maybe I am wrong but those 46 dingers would have fit in nicely on a team that struggled against quality RH pitching. And has in the post season for five years.

Philly wanted to win badly. Mo just enjoys being arrogant.

We signed Pujols to sell tickets and lucked into his rebound year. We kept a clearly finished Yadi to sell tickets.

Goldie and Arenado are not unlimited resources. We have a window of another 2-3 years. If we refuse to sign big name FA and we hang onto all our prospects instead of trading them for current major league studs, the window will pass.

NWMO Blowout rematches

There are a few others (check out Class 3 District 8) with closer rematches. Sooooo many of them this year. My only prediction is ONE of these will be a scare not sure which, though:

Liberty North 41, Blue Springs South 7 (that D should again be too much)
Lee's Summit North 21, Lee's Summit West 0 (rivalry - could this be the one?)

Oak Park 47, Platte County 25 (my guess this will be the one)
Grain Valley 44, Belton 0 (Pirates QB wild card?)
Raytown 51, Raytown South 27 (another huge rivalry just think too much talent disparity)

Kearney 44, Excelsior Springs 6 (yet another rivalry but I saw the first game the talent disparity again very wide)

Pleasant Hill 42, Oak Grove 7 (see KTown and RTown comments)

Higginsville 56, Lawson 19 (over by half, sorry Cards fans)
St. Michael 35, Pembroke Hill 0 (highly doubtful)

Did I miss any?

Playoffs - A thought experiment

Did the seeding for all 6 Classes similar to how Illinois does it (I think Illinois and Texas have the two best playoff systems, very different, but the two best in my opinion).
I did make a few changes to how Illinois does it
1. Kept everyone in their Class (Illinois doesn't classify until AFTER the 256 qualifiers have been announced)
2. Used the district point formula for seeding rather than record. In Illinois all the 9 - 0 teams are seeded, then 8 - 1, etc. Opponents wins are used as the tiebreaker. I like our district point system and therefore used it for seeding.

Illinois also divides the lower classes in half, a northern bracket and a southern bracket. In class 8 they seed it 1 - 32. I seeded all classes 1 - 32, but you could easily seed two halves 1 - 16. I didn't bother.

In the cases of Class 3, 4, 5 I had to dip into the 4-5 teams to find the remaining qualifiers. Class 1 and Class 2 had exactly 32 teams at 5-4 or better. Class 6 I actually had to drop 2 teams that were 5-4.
